Episode 209: Saturday the 14th
[There's no ads on this one. They are really really long this week, too. We really got goin' for some reason. Anyway, cheers.]
It's Monday, and you know what that means: we all cross our fingers and hope Apple Podcasts pulls its head out of its ass and delivers this week's episode to thousands of our adoring fans. Assuming it works as intended, this week you're gonna get a great show. Mike and JF are talking Kitchen Time, having a Footnotes Fight, and going Neil DeGrasse Tyson style on the goofs and screw-ups of classic slasher Friday the 13th. Plus, we thank America for all its opportunities, get paid to let a social media company spy on us, and finally talk (at great length, and with impressive detail) about AnimeTube, the Kickstarter that's pissing everyone off this week. This ep is so great that absolutely nothing could derail it, save for a malfunctioning RSS backend in the most popular podcasting app, which has no contact form or accountability whatsoever. Anyway, enjoy!
Music for YKS is courtesy of Howell Dawdy, Craig Dickman, and Mark Brendle. Additional research by Zeke Golvin. YKS is edited by Producer Dan. Executive Producer lola butt.
Coming up on this Friday's YKS Premium: Howell Dawdy! Our friend and resident thememaster returns to bullshit around, discuss his greatest podcasting triumph (me), and Name That Toon.

Edinburgh's shops are crap, but it is a beautiful city with a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site designation: the Old Town is a well-preserved example of a mediaeval European city complete with castle (built on an extinct volcano), while the New Town is an example of Georgian era town planning with large townhouses built in a grid pattern (using tobacco money from British colonies). (It's also where JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter books).
I'm ready to dump funimation streaming because the site doesn't work half the time. like I'll open a series and none of the episode thumbnails will load so I can't click anything, even with adblock disabled. idk how they're this bad at being a streaming platform
I really liked when Jesse said "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..(etc)". It was a nice peek into his uninhibited side that is behind all the wallowing
To clarify on the cost of the animator: they were probably paying someone overseas via Fiverr. $50 / day sounds about right.
I listened to 9 minutes and 37 seconds of this episode on Spotify thinking y'all were just doing a really long bit where you're talking over each other. 10/10
JF having awful taste in movies is getting me pumped for miketober
What was the ending in reference to? JF seeming to light up DB’s ass full blaze roast?
I was wondering the same thing.
mike and jf are basically billy crystal and randall from monsters inc
Took me a good 20 minutes to figure out Mike wasn’t just doing a bit
Assumed you guys were just extra bad with the cross talk for first five minutes...
I listened to the apple out of sync version for 10 minutes thinking it was intentional
Listening on a third party app (Podcast Addict) and it's also out of sync, the version on the Patreon feed is fine.
Heads up boys, the Spotify version is out of sync (apologies if this has already been brought up
