Opel Kadett Coupé 1979 - Work in Progress

What started as a request for a quick conversion is slowly turning into a much more complete and polished project.

I am currently rebuilding and improving this 1979 Opel Kadett Coupé for Assetto Corsa, with the goal of creating a car that not only looks right, but also feels believable and enjoyable to drive.

The current work includes:

• functional dashboard needles for fuel, oil pressure and water temperature

• corrected tachometer and speedometer behaviour

• AO mapped

• working animations

• improved materials and visual details

• RainFX support

• realistic 4-speed manual transmission

• approximately 115 PS and 162 Nm, based on the original 2.0 GT/E specifications

• a target top speed of more than 190 km/h

• revised drivetrain, differential, engine braking and gear ratios

• further physics and handling improvements

The car is still a work in progress, so some details may change during testing. I am currently focusing on making the drivetrain, instruments and overall driving behaviour feel closer to the real Kadett C GT/E.
