Worlds Resurfaced
Adding PBR textures for worlds EA never did.
Download: CurseForge / SFS
Patch Breakage: Low
This mod adds PBR (physically-based rendering) maps that give world terrain a new level of depth: the sun creates a sheen, rainy weather looks wetter, and shadows in flat textures now appear more intense, with even smaller crevices receiving shadowing details.
The Base Game and a few DLC worlds all give their worlds full textures, but more often than not, EA skimps on this part of world detailing. Having gone through hundreds of textures, I really appreciate just how much work these worlds take to create.
Worlds edited:
Newcrest (Base Game)

Del Sol Valley (Get Famous)
StrangerVille (StrangerVille)
Glimmerbrook (Realm of Magic)
Britechester (Discover University)
Mt Komorebi (Snowy Escape)
Henford-on-Bagley (Cottage Living)
Tartosa (My Wedding Stories)
Moonwood Mill (Werewolves)

Worlds not included in the list have been checked for the textures and are fully finished by Maxis, not requiring any effort on my part.
This mod was a huge undertaking for me (I went through every single world released), which shows in the file size. I tried to downsize/reuse assets as much as I could, but as a team of one, I can't optimize texture storage any further without overworking myself.
All of the mods I create would not exist without Lot51's Tuning Builder & Core Library, Sims 4 Studio, and Maxis.

i just went to the SFS to see if it was updated, and i noticed that the file size went from 285,000 KB to just 127,000 KB, thats huge!! i dont know what you changed but any file size decrease is greatly appreciated!! thank you so much for your hard work!!
Is this compatible with cubemap remover?
Yep
You are doing so much for the game! thx you!
Is it possible to add native PBR textures to floors, wallpapers, terrain paints and possibly some objects so that they only ever realistically reflect nearby lights whenever they are brightly lit while also avoiding EA's horrendous cubemap implementation that makes us have to use lotharihoe's cubemap remover to get rid of that unrealistic effect?: https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/mods/cubemap-remover
Hey! Unfortunately that's a core shader issue, not something modders can fix :/ Terrain paints do not support PBR, tho floors/wallpapers already do, it's just that their cubemap is used instead of the sun. It sucks to not have much control for sure :/
ive been anticipating downloading this since you posted early progress pics!! really quick, it apparently conflicts with your "SeasonsAssetsFix_CORE" file, is it fine to have both in at the same time?
May your pillow stay cool, your steak be juicy, and your pockets full❣️
Hey, can you reupload the PBR comparison photos to a different image-hosting site? Imgur isn't available in the UK right now.
This looks stunning! Will it conflict with other overrides like Moriel's?
Oh that’s brilliant.
Sorry if this is a silly question but would this conflict with terrain overrides?
This is AMAZING!!! Thank you so much, I can't think how much work it was to do all the worlds!!
You've done a tremendous job—thank you for everything. I'm putting together a post to talk about this on our forum; I really love your work.🤗
Blown away, cannot wait to see this in game!
Holy shit this is amazing! Thank you so much!
It’s hard to put into words how impressed I am. You clearly put an incredible amount of time into this, and it makes the whole game feel completely renewed. I never imagined something like this was even possible.
Love this! Thank you for making my game better!! 💚
this is perfect thank you so much!
This is amazing and is going straight into my game! I can’t believe how many worlds were missing textures.
