A surprise drop
[Updates at the end of the post]
So, what happened?! I said I was going to release a new R.E.A.L. VR version with fixes and improvements, and then just disappeared into thin air?
Well, actually yes, that's sort of what happened. Only the air was so thin, it was more like empty space. So empty... it felt almost dead.
As if it had been there from 2023, just waiting to be experienced in VR []-D
I literally got hundreds of requests for this game. By which I mean, Tomo asked for it a couple hundred times, and then another dozen people or so also wanted to see it in VR.
Just kidding :-P
But seriously, this one is for you, Tomo. And for all the amazing Patrons who have been supporting me for years in this amazing adventure.
I should mention, you might want to pack one extra pair of underwear before venturing on the USG Ishimura. Don't say I didn't warn you! It's dark in space. And in the dark live... things. Or are they even alive?
No spoilers. But playing this title makes me feel like the developers must have thought they would be releasing an official VR version at some point. We all know that didn't happen, but in an alternate universe, the same assets and level design could have led to one of the most amazing VR games ever released. I'm talking in the league of Half-Life: Alyx.
And in case you didn't think this game was scary enough... I implemented a full-fledged first person camera that will get you up close and personal with every detail in the game, like the huge soda cans lying around, the posters on the walls, the wealth of information on computer screens, the greeblies on every surface, and of course the Necromorphs rushing at you wanting nothing but to rip the head right off your body.
This R.E.A.L. VR release (v2607.31.2_early_access for the EA version which includes DS2023 and DOOM; v2607.31.1_public for the free one) also brings changes and improvements to other titles in our list:
DOOM (https://store.steampowered.com/app/379720/DOOM/ ): The code dealing with the direction of movement and shooting has been completely rewritten. Frantic mantling during combat will no longer cause the gun to become misaligned with the direction the camera is pointing at. It took a big effort to fix this issue, maybe too big to be justifiable; but with id Software being essentially disbanded, I believe we must cherish the Doom's that we have, because we're probably never going to get any others.
DOOMTDA (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3017860/DOOM_The_Dark_Ages/ ): This release adds support for the Revelations DLC, and it extends VR compatibility to the official "Update 4 Hotfix 2" that came out a couple of days ago. Due to the extent of the changes, and the likelihood of more official updates coming, I have to bring this title back into Early Access. If you downloaded the previous public release, you can still use it to play in VR but you'll need to downgrade your game version.
DG (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1259420/Days_Gone/ ): To balance out for the need to bring DOOMTDA back into Early Access, I'm moving DG to the public release. You will be able to play this title in VR without any need to support me financially (although if you decide to do it anyway I very much appreciate it!).
CD (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3321460/Crimson_Desert/ ): I updated the framework to support the latest official update, 1.15.00 1.16.00 1.16.01.
Update Aug 2: The new v2608.2.2 EA release should solve the issue of DS2023 not entering VR on systems with an AMD GPU. Please let me know if it's working for you!
Enjoy your Zero-G adventures! And try to stay alive []-D

Well, looks like I鈥檒l be revisiting the Ishimura and crapping my pants, better not sit on the white sofa 馃榿
Or just don't wear any pants at all! Better yet just move your setup to the restroom :)
Early Access version download link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/152734106 Why is this link not in this post? There are perfect places for it: "This R.E.A.L. VR release (v2607.31.2_early_access for the EA version which includes DS2023" "Update Aug 2: The new v2608.2.2 EA " To download EA version you need to: 1) Click on the pinned Welcome post to open https://www.patreon.com/realvr/posts/welcome-152405833 2) Scroll down to "Download and Setup instructions" 3) Click the "here" link to open https://www.patreon.com/realvr/posts/how-to-setup-r-e-152405468 4) Scroll aaaall the way down to "Early access version download" 5) Click the "here" link to open https://www.patreon.com/realvr/posts/early-access-152734106 6) Click the attachment to finally download the file. Is this some kind of a dark pattern? Why is not present in the pinned Welcome post, and also in every post about game supported by VR framework in Early Access? Even GamertagVR had trouble finding the download link to the paid version and had to ask where is it in the comments - this is ultimate proof that it's not easy to find the link. I download a new version every few weeks - every time I need to look for it again (I know, I should have bookmarked it :) )
Thank you for the comment (I had to scroll all the way through it to get to the good part!) 馃槀 Kidding aside, I responded to one of your other threads, and I also pasted the reply in a public post because your question is indeed meaningful.
Enabling first person view with dual sense controllers does not work. I have been trying to enter first person view for a while now. clicking and holding R3 and L3 doesn't work even when I have the box checked in the overlay. Is there any other way to enable the first person view?
Enable Steam Input if using Dual Sense. I just tried and this fixed it for me both wired and wireless.
donde descargo el ultimo para dead space?gracias

There is another VR mod for CP2077, with native stereo. Do you think you could step up and implement native stereo in your framework ? Maybe you can use these mods as a source of inspiration: https://github.com/dariulone/cyberpunk-vr-port/releases#release-0.1.0 https://github.com/tig3rmast3r/witcher3-vr/releases/tag/v0.9.0-alpha.1
I mean for the other games in your portofolio, not for CP2077.
Thank you!! The new patch allows me to run DS2023 on my AMD card now!
Awesome, thanks for reporting back!
Hi. Sorry but I am trying to play the Revelation DLC but the game runs in 1:1 flat 2d screen I my headset. I was able to play original Doom TDA in perfect 3d but it doesn't work now. Any ideas please? 馃様 I've tried both last early access versions 2607.31.2 and 2608.2.2 Also I cannot find dxgi.dll so I am unable to disable the mod 馃様
Can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post a link here? For the Vulkan games, you will need to rename the RealRepo folder to RealRepo_ That should stop REAL from injecting.
Im running it with steam link and have zero issues with quest 3s
After trashing Luke about the CDPR fiasco, it looks like Beardo Benjo is just fine enjoying Luke's fine work. These people ...
I was more peeved that he said it was now in VR "kind of". That is ridiculous. He is welcome to his opinion on whatever situation but saying this is only "kind of" VR is silly. By that logic, there is no such thing as full VR yet. We have to wait for the holodeck for that.
That's insane! Brilliant! Thank you so much! As a huge fan of the DOOM2016 esthetics, I have to ask: can I run around in multiplayer maps (just to adore them) as well? In any case - you're the greatest!
In DOOM (2016) im having a visual problem, using any stereo render theres like an image leak from eye to eye The render in each eye is very clear just around the weapon and the arm you can slightly see them again but from the other eye view, on both eyes happens i notice that reducing the anti aliasing from the highest to the simpler one its less noticing but even with AA off is still there Is there an option that i should change? Im using PSVR2
What GPU are you using? Are you using DLSS? Does it say you are using OpenXR runtime at the top of the main tab of the REAL overlay?
I'm so glad that DOOMTDA is working!
Time for some limb cuttin, moves struttin fun! Any chance you can look at MGSV Phantom Pain? That would be one epic, optimised title for vr. Pretty please consider my friend 馃ズ馃檹
iNDEED.
Doom revelations DLC works great, frame rate seems even better with update. Just purchased Dead space on sale. Thanks again for keeping VR alive.
Hi every one , sorry for the question , may I ask to play the Doom dark ages and the DLC do I need the latest version of REALVR or the public version would be ok? if I need to get the latest Do I have to subscribe and pay for the tire first ?
I would like to support the Author by subscribe to be honest any way , but I want make sure if some one played Doom the latest DLC using the early access
This is amazing! But I can't find the download page. I typed Early access and it takes me to another post.
Never mind. I found it by manually scrolling down the posts. Or you can type download in search box.
Thanks, Great Job
YES! Thank You, Good Sir!
Excellent choice, Luke! I played the original Dead Space (and its sequels) using 3D Vision, and I purchased the positively reviewed remake hoping for an eventual VR mod... Have you or Brandon had a chance to compare quality and speed of your mods when using Pimax headsets, specifically the differences when using either Pimax Play/Pimax OpenXR (therefore, Oculus runtime OpenXR) or EVO/Sboys3 driver with OpenXR support? I spent yesterday comparing the 2 driver approaches after finding suitable settings for my Super micro-OLED engine, when using the latest Sboys3 beta driver with both SLAM and Lighthouse support (distortion was minimal/acceptable). I used the default SteamVR scale settings for both drivers. Note that the SteamVR 100% value for Pimax Play/Pimax OpenXR is 5424x5356 (Steam default value), while EVO/Sboys3 OpenXR (under SteamVR) is 5892x4160 (180% scaling default??). I changed no game or mod settings in my testing. I tested both The Great Circle and Death Stranding 2, games I recently finished using Pimax Play driver. Even though Pimax Play driver has about 18% larger rendering windows than Sboys3 driver, the games ran faster and had noticeably BETTER resolution than with the Sboys3 driver. This is very surprising result, considering that I have played a number of other REAL games using MeganeX 8K/Sboys3 combination previously, and I expected comparable visuals with a little better performance for the Sboys3 driver. Your Oculus OpenXR work-around is extremely efficient in its rendering. Might it be considered for more headsets? I had no problems with Death Stranding 2, while I encountered very occasional game stopping freezes in The Great Circle (with superb performance and incredible visuals until the freezes). My UEVR game testing showed comparable speed and image quality results between the 2 driver approaches, unlike my REAL testing. The Sboys3 driver is generally compatible with more games than Pimax Play/Pimax OpenXR, although The Occultist had extremely erratic fps when using Sboys3 driver, while Pimax was stable. Note that The Great Circle Xbox REAL interface does not work for either Pimax or Sboys3 driver approach. Changing game Steam Controller setting from Supported to Disabled (and back) has no effect. The "Pause" + "Back" button combination does not bring up the REAL interface, and the controller does not interact with the REAL content.
Sboys3 said he would have a new beta build out pretty soon here. Being that support for SLAM and other Pimax headsets outside of the Dream Air is still in beta, things will obviously improve. I can't use EVO with my Crystal Light currently because OpenPort causes my display to not.......display :) Tried reinstalling everything etc. but no go.
where can I download REAL VR?
Search for a post called "Early Access Version"
Wow wow, so awesome news! Can鈥檛 wait to return to the Isimura, this time for real (oh no馃槀)
I am literally happy crying. I stopped counting how many years I support you and how many countless hours of incredible experiences you have privded - to all of us. To me you are my secret best friend and a true balance in my life. If ppl ask me about most memorable moments - I am saying without hesitation playing games like Last of US, Uncharted and many others in VR - these are truly the most amazing moments one can have as a fan of immersive entertainment. I cant thank you enough - everyone one has his own little bias title they want to experience in VR and this was very high on my list as a big fan of this genre and despite all the noise around studios - you went ahead and did it. Today I can already say that my subscrption will last a life time and perhaps even passed that. THANK YOU LUKE ! time to get my nappies and into the space we goooooo!
So happy you finally get to play Dead Space 2023 in VR man! Plays and looks really good, performance is really solid too. Hopefully you can go back and play it again once you grab a Dream Air, because the OLED panels would really shine in this one 馃榿 I'm sure you will play through it more than once though.
Christmas came early馃槏. Thank you so much for all your efforts . Almost completed my second playthrough of 007, and have been excited for new update. Doom here I come.馃憦
