In The Sims 4, mods (including custom content) go in the Mods folder within your game files. Here’s how to find it and set it up:

• Locate the Mods Folder:

  • Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.

• Organize and Install Mods:

  • Download the mod or custom content you want, usually in the form of .package, .ts4script, or .zip files.

  • If it's a .zip file, unzip it before placing the files inside the Mods folder.

  • Organize your mods by creating subfolders inside the Mods folder (e.g., “Clothes” or “Furniture”) if you want, as long as they’re no more than one folder deep. Script mods need to be directly inside the Mods folder or one subfolder to work.

• Enable Mods in Game:

  • Open The Sims 4 and go to Options > Game Options > Other.

  • Make sure Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed are checked.

  • Restart the game to activate the mods.

  In The Sims 4, the Tray folder is where the game saves all lots, rooms, and Sims that you create or download from the Gallery. This folder stores the files needed to add these items to your game. Here’s where to find it and how to use it:

  • Locate the Tray Folder:

    • Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray.

  • Adding New Items to Your Tray Folder:

    • If you download lots, rooms, or Sims from other players outside the Gallery (e.g., from a Sim dump), place the downloaded files (usually .blueprint, .bpi, .trayitem, and sometimes .householdbinary files) directly into the Tray folder.

  • Viewing Items in Your Game:

    • After placing files in the Tray folder, open The Sims 4 and go to Gallery > My Library. You’ll see the added items there, ready for you to place in your game.
