Server Owners: Keymaster Is Shutting Down Soon

We do not have an exact shutdown date yet, but as we prepare to roll out the new Accounts system, Keymaster will be taken offline.

Server key management will move into the new Accounts Portal. Migrating everything from the old system to the new one will require Keymaster to be temporarily shut down.

What You Need to Know

• Keymaster will not return in its current form. Server key management will become part of the new Accounts Portal.

• Your existing server keys will continue to work.

• During the migration, you may temporarily be unable to create new keys or view your existing keys.

• Your servers are not expected to lose visibility or ranking in the server list.

• We do not expect any significant disruption to service, although there may be occasional minor downtime.

• There is no confirmed date for when key creation will return, but we would not be starting this migration if the new system were not getting close to release.

What You Should Do Now

Plan ahead.

If you expect to need additional server keys in the near future, create them now. You should also save copies of your existing keys somewhere secure and easy to access.

This can be as simple as saving them in a text document, password manager, spreadsheet, or another secure location. You may also be able to find them inside your existing server configuration files.

As long as your keys have already been created and you have them saved, you will still be able to use them during the migration.

Early Access

The new Accounts system will most likely become available to Early Access members before its full public release. This means EA members may regain the ability to view and create server keys before everyone else.

We want to be clear about this in advance so that it is not seen as a last-minute attempt to push subscriptions. This notice gives everyone time to create and save the keys they may need without having to subscribe for access later.

Final Reminder

Existing keys will not stop working, and most server owners should not experience any major issues with the right preparation.

Create any keys you may need and save your existing ones somewhere safe.

Now go save those keys!
