Thirty Pop Announcement + Artwork Reveal
Hello Patrons! It's a beautifully overcast Tuesday in Houston, and I'm sitting in a local coffeehouse enjoying the carbonated wonder that is Too Chico, and thought this would be as good a time as any to send out a quick note to formally announce (and reveal the amazing artwork for) another show coming to the network in the near future. The show is called Thirty Pop and it will be a weekly show in which I sit down with a few really fun friends to turn the clock back thirty years and look at what was happening in pop culture, news, sports, etc. The show launches in January of 2019, and we'll spend all year looking back at 1989. It should be really, REALLY fun. Equal parts nostalgia and cringe.
The artwork was, once again, designed by the inimitable Heather Hale. I think she absolutely crushed it on this one. I told her I wanted it to feel like an artifact from 1989. Specifically, the box of an old VHS movie. I didn't want to feel like I'd traveled back in time though and was holding a brand new box in my hands. Rather, I wanted to feel like I was holding a 30 year old box in present day, with all the damage it would've sustained in its long life. Again...she crushed it. I love it so much.
To prep for the show, I've already launched social media channels. My hope is to begin doing the work now of building an audience for the show and setting the tone for what we'll be diving into. So for the rest of 2018 I'll be reminiscing on 1988, which was a TRULY remarkable year in the USA. Be sure to follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram today to help me begin establishing the show!
As always, thank you for joining me on this journey. Know that I'm working really, really hard to build something we can all be really proud of. You're an absolutely integral part of that building. Thank you, friends!
More updates soon!
