FluidFlux is in - and it changes everything
Dears,
Thanks to Patrons support, I finally pulled the trigger on something I’ve been eyeing for a while - a new water system for Unreal Engine 5 called FluidFlux.
It’s already implemented in Hardyhammer Mine, and while that map probably doesn’t show its full potential yet (this is my first real use-case with it), I can already tell this is a game changer.
For those who haven’t heard of it - FluidFlux brings water to life. Like, actually. It flows around obstacles, speeds up in narrow passages, creates foam, reacts dynamically… it just behaves like real water instead of a looping texture. There’s also a whole system for waves and shorelines that I haven’t even touched yet.
And yeah - I think I might be one of the very few animated map creators (if not the only one?) using this system right now. Huge disclaimer: I didn’t exactly run scientific research on that 😄.
And this is exactly where your support makes a real difference.
Every bit of support goes straight back into improving the maps - better tools, new systems, smoother workflow, higher quality. That’s literally the core idea behind this whole thing.
So seriously - thank you. I appreciate it more than you know.
And if you’re on the fence - this is the kind of stuff your support enables 💛
Cheers!
