[Master Post] Sanctum of the Forbidden Rites - 8k resolution animated maps
"The narrow stairwell creaks under your boots as you descend into the cellar’s gloom. The air grows heavy—thick with the sour tang of sweat and stale liquor. At the bottom, faint candlelight flickers against damp stone, revealing a chamber cluttered with empty crates and barrels.
In the northern corner, three filthy bedrolls lie in disarray, surrounded by shattered bottles. The stink of unwashed bodies lingers here, and every shadow seems to stretch too far in the half-light. To the south, a stout wooden door waits, its surface scarred with age. The faint outline of an archway supported by mismatched columns hints at a passage beyond, the stonework oddly refined compared to the rough cellar walls."

The newest map is finally here! Sanctum of the Forbidden Rites – a brand-new dungeon I built inside Unreal Engine 5. This one’s been rendered in glorious 8K, and I’ve got to say, the details really pop.
While creating it, I kept imagining that from the outside these underground chambers might look like nothing more than an ordinary cellar. Perfect for whatever kind of denizens you want to throw in there – bandits, goblins, or maybe a small orc gang. But hidden beyond, past a cave crawling with spiders, lies something much stranger: chambers that once served as the sanctum of a long-dead wizard.
What’s funny is that I’ve realized the actual “map building” part is only about 30% of the job. The other 70% is me wrangling with post-processing, colors, lighting, effects… making sure it all looks polished enough to drop right into your games.
Who’s this map for? For YOU – anyone who wants to slip a compact dungeon into their campaign, one that hides a greater mystery waiting to unfold. Or maybe you'd like to play it completely different? Tell u how?
