Important Update: Animated Battle Maps Now Fully Compliant with EU Regulations
Hey everyone,
Important announcement today! Due to recent regulatory changes from the European Union (Directive 2025/17/EU, specifically), all my animated battle maps will now strictly adhere to official EU safety and accessibility guidelines.
Since I’m based within the EU, I’m legally required to implement these standards across all future releases. I know it sounds like a lot, but it’s all in the name of safety and Responsible Dungeon Design (RDD).
Here are some of the key changes:
Mandatory clearly marked emergency exits on every dungeon map.
All animated lava streams will now display a “Caution: Hot Surface” warning sign.
Any maps with extensive usage of VFX, in wizard or mage encounter featuring flashing spell effects will include an epilepsy warning pop-up.
Tavern scenes will now comply with digital alcohol-consumption regulations. No virtual drink will exceed 0.5% ABV.
These necessary adjustments ensure everyone can safely enjoy battle maps without legal concerns.
Happy April 1st, everyone! ;)
Cheers!
