💜 Dev Status: Rework Cap03 #03
Hello, my dear supporters!
It's time for another development update on Welcome to Hell.
Today, I want to have an honest conversation with all of you and explain everything that happened during the past month, when I went more than 30 days without posting any updates.
I know my sudden disappearance raised questions and concerns, so I think it's important to explain exactly what happened, where the project currently stands, and what you can expect moving forward.
💼 Why I Went Silent
Unfortunately, Welcome to Hell still doesn't generate enough income for me to dedicate myself to the project full-time.
As many of you already know, the game has grown tremendously over the past few years. Along with that growth came much higher technical demands. To continue improving the quality of the renders, animations, and overall visuals, I need to keep investing in better hardware and upgrading my workstation.
Over the past few months, I've managed to make several important upgrades, but to be completely honest, I'm still far from having the kind of professional setup needed to fully support everything I want to create.
At the same time, real life doesn't stop. Bills still need to be paid, and unfortunately the project isn't yet able to cover all of those expenses. Because of that, I had to take on freelance work and other side projects to keep everything financially stable.
The last 60 days have been incredibly demanding. I divided my time between developing Welcome to Hell, working on outside projects, and handling everyday responsibilities. As a result, I had far less time available to create content and keep everyone here on Patreon updated.
For that, I'm truly sorry.
💜 Things Are Finally Getting Better
The good news is that this difficult period is finally coming to an end.
Most of those extra projects have now been completed, which means I can once again dedicate much more of my time to developing Welcome to Hell and interacting with the community.
From now on, you can expect much more frequent updates and a closer look behind the scenes as development continues.
🎮 Current Development Status
I'd also like to use this post to show you exactly where development currently stands.
Over the next updates, I'll be covering:
The progress of the current chapter.
What has already been completed.
What still needs to be done.
What I'm actively working on right now.
The remaining milestones before release.
In fact, as I'm writing this update, I'm actively working on the game.
I want to be as transparent as possible throughout this process, so you'll always know what I'm working on and why certain parts of development naturally take longer than others.
My commitment has never changed since day one: to deliver the best version of Welcome to Hell that I possibly can.
Thank you all so much for your patience, your support, and for continuing to believe in this project.
Now, let's talk about what really matters—the current state of development and everything happening behind the scenes of Welcome to Hell. 💜
🎮 Current Chapter Progress
Now I'd like to give you a detailed look at the chapter I'm currently working on: Chapter 03 Remake.
As I mentioned in previous updates, Chapters 08 and 09 are already at a very advanced stage. However, I won't be releasing them until the remake's core foundation is fully completed. This was a deliberate decision made to improve both the quality and the long-term structure of the project.
At this point, I believe it's far more important to finish the definitive remake framework than to continue building new content on top of an outdated structure that would eventually need to be rebuilt anyway.
While this approach may seem slower in the short term, it will significantly speed up development in the future and make the game much more consistent as a whole.
✍️ What's Already Finished?
I'm happy to say that the core development of the chapter is already complete.
This includes:
All of the main dialogue.
The chapter's narrative structure.
Player choices and branching paths.
Event scripting.
Scene programming and implementation.
Of course, development is always an iterative process. I often go back to improve dialogue, refine player choices, or enhance certain scenes to make them more impactful. But the chapter's overall foundation is finished.
🎨 The Next Stage
Starting this week, I'm moving into the most time-consuming phase of chapter development: visual production.
This is where I begin building every scene—placing characters, creating poses, adjusting lighting, expressions, camera angles, and composition before rendering all of the static images.
Since the writing phase is already complete, this part of development becomes much more organized. I already know exactly:
Which images need to be created.
When each scene appears.
Which characters are involved.
Which poses and facial expressions are required.
Where animations and visual effects will be integrated.
This makes the workflow significantly more efficient and greatly reduces unnecessary rework.
🎬 After the Renders
Once all of the static renders are finished, I'll move on to the next stage of development: animation production.
This is the final phase of visual development and is usually the most demanding in terms of rendering time and computer processing power.
After that comes playtesting, bug fixing, polishing, and the final adjustments before release.
💜 We're Making Great Progress
Development is moving forward very well.
The delays over the past few months weren't caused by problems with the game itself, but mainly because I had to divide my time between Welcome to Hell and freelance work in order to cover my living expenses while continuing to invest in the project.
Even during that period, I never stopped working on Welcome to Hell. Every single day—even if only for a few hours—I continued making progress.
Now that I've been able to reorganize my schedule, I'll be dedicating much more of my time to development and sharing that progress with all of you much more frequently.
Thank you all for continuing to support me and for believing in this project. It truly means the world to me. 💜
💜 Final Thoughts
Well, everyone, I hope this update has helped explain what happened over the past few weeks and why I was away for a while.
As I mentioned earlier, I had to dedicate part of my time to freelance work in order to cover my living expenses while continuing to invest in the development of Welcome to Hell. Thankfully, that chapter is coming to an end, and I can now focus much more of my time and energy on the project again.
That also means you'll be able to follow development much more closely.
Since I'm now entering the scene creation and rendering phase for Chapter 03 Remake, I'll be sharing plenty of brand-new screenshots and behind-the-scenes content. I want you to be part of every step of the process—from building each scene to seeing the final result in-game.
My goal is to return to a consistent posting schedule here on Patreon.
📅 Every Monday, I'll be posting a weekly development update covering:
What I'm currently working on.
The progress made during the week.
What's coming next.
I also plan to bring back many of the community activities you've enjoyed.
You can look forward to:
Community polls.
Exclusive content.
New high-resolution artwork.
Behind-the-scenes development updates.
And several other surprises I've been working on.
I want to make this Patreon page feel much more active again and bring all of you even closer to the development of Welcome to Hell.
Later today, I'll also be giving the Patreon page a major overhaul—updating information, improving the organization of posts, and preparing several exciting additions for the months ahead.
In addition, I'm planning to launch a fundraising campaign dedicated exclusively to upgrading the computer I use to develop the game.
Unfortunately, during this period I also ran into several hardware issues. Besides the limitations of my graphics card, I experienced problems with my system memory that effectively cut my available RAM in half. This had a significant impact on my workflow and made it clear that it's time for a more comprehensive hardware upgrade.
Every investment I make in my development setup directly improves Welcome to Hell—faster rendering, higher-quality visuals, smoother animations, and a much more efficient production pipeline.
That's why every bit of support truly makes a difference and directly contributes to the continued growth of the project.
Once again, I'd like to sincerely apologize for my absence.
Thank you so much for your patience, your kindness, and for continuing to believe in Welcome to Hell. You are an essential part of this journey, and your support makes it possible for this dream to keep growing every single day.
If you ever have any questions, want to chat, or are simply curious about the development process, please don't hesitate to reach out.
