It’s the script writing, 1000% This was my first time watching this as well. Story writers did well but the dialogue in the script by the script writers, sucked. It is the exact opposite of ant man and the wasp.

Ash its kind of a bummer you started it out this way for Hannah, its very possible if you had kept it slighty more neutral she would have enjoyed it more. Not saying hannah takes your opinions but if my bf says this is the worst movie ive ever seen that would definitely influence me. The way they introduce her is flawed and jumpy, a huge LETSDOIT before endgame, but fleshed out more shes a 90s tony stark and you would love her

I have taken my wife (who never read comics growing up) to every single MCU movie. Some, she wanted to go see. Others, she had no idea what she was even going for (Guardians of the Galaxy, for example). Out of ALL of them, there is only one film where as soon as the lights came up, she turned to me and asked: "are you going to buy this one on blu-ray? So we can own it and rewatch it?" That one and only movie... is Captain Marvel.
Tbh for me this is the just an appetizer before you guys do Arrival and Endgame 😅

I love how triggered all the women in these comments are because someone they pay to watch react to stuff on the internet, has an honest opinion about this boring, plotless shitshow. I truly cannot begin to grasp how Brie whatsherface won an OSCAR in 2015, and then proceded not to move her face for the entire movie. I watched this reaction because I'm a loyalist, but it was actual agony having to sit through this pile of stinking, runny dog shit again.
Asks for people to stop being triggered and then immediately gets triggered. The irony is that it's definitely you that's more triggered than anyone else here, that most people do not hate it like you do, you have a frothing at the mouth hatred for it and it's oozes out of your every orifice. Hannah didn't hate it, she thought it was ok, even Ash says there are some good things about it, Hannah called out the hyperbole directly to him and he is known to exaggerate. To be clear, it's mid, definitely near the bottom if not at the bottom of the MCU up until this point, but stop with the absurd hyperbole, as well as the seething hatred that makes you sound like a cringey chud.

not that it matters, but as they were piecing together clues at SHIELD, Carol(Vers) found the other half of her old dog tags that read "Carol Dan-" (cut off there) and she realized that's why they called her Vers lol they only had the other side. Also, again not that it matters but Maria called her parents, not her neighbors to watch Monica.

Hey Ash you already said you and Hannah will watch all the movies post Endgame before Doomsday, but you really need to watch 5 of the shows to understand the movies. Luckily these 5 shows are the better ones. The rest of the TV shows are optional. Basically you need to watch Wandavision, Loki season 1 and 2, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel. Make sure to watch the shows in release order between the appropriate movies. They introduce pretty major characters and character arcs that you will need for the movies.
Skip Hawkeye. Kate Bishop isn't important in the MCU/Doomsday. Maybe watch the end credit scene if it ties into another show/movie.
I hope to God the shows they plan on watching are Daredevil and The Punisher
Ash, just a reminder for when you finish Endgame: Be sure to watch the end credits all the way through, no skips. The thought and design that went into making the whole credits sequence was basically a tribute to the peak of the MCU, a part of the live-action movie itself, meant for all of us Marvel fans, and I think Hannah would appreciate the journey a lot more if you both watched it all the way through together. Makes the ending all the much more sweeter.
btw, this had me laugh so hard: little Monica: "Auntie Carol? Mom, it's auntie Carol!!" Hannah, an hour later: "Carol??! her name is Carol???" XD
hannah talks during all the dialogue. She's probably watched 40% of the footage in all the MCU.
i think they were talking about -is it the worst movie out of the first 3 phases of MCU, right? not -is it the worst movie they ever watched? surely not? the thing with me is i like ALL 23 movies in the first 3 phases of MCU (the only one i really hate and wouldn't recommend watching is in Phase 4 xD), so for me it's just about which one i like the best. so while i agree that Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel are at the very bottom of those 23 movies (they sure are!), i still like them. i expected Ash to not enjoy watching this one, so i am fine with that, and i appreciate that he didn't "overhate" it in this reaction xD i expected Hannah to enjoy having some of those little gaps in the whole MCU timeline and storyline filled with this movie, before the Endgame, so that was fun to watch. thank you guys! can't wait for the.... NEXT ONE! :D

Just as a reminder, this was shoved in between Infinity War and Endgame to introduce her. I blame Marvel as that made it feel forced. I think Marvel could have done better with her if they included her story further back in the saga. But it is what it is. Thank God for flerkens and post credit scenes.

Okay, I have some stuff to say about this film lmao. I know it’s not great. At times it’s not even good. One of marvels biggest struggles was getting both Cap Marvel and Black Panther to screen. They had plans for years to make these films around phase 2, but there was an executive producer at Disney who would not green light any movie staring a woman or a person of color. After lots of pushback from Feige and an eventual demotion of Ike Pearlmutter, these movies were given the go ahead. Unfortunately, while black panther had the perfect set-up time and release before infinity war, it was just too late in the game for this movie to get made. Carol is absolutely shoehorned into this series and has not had any justice served for her character yet. Brie Larson was absolutely the right pick, but the writing decisions did her and this movie so so dirty. I like her in endgame, and I am one of the dozens of defenders of the marvels. But I do think there’s plenty of time to turn her character around. We have seen it done a few times already with both Captain America and Thor. As for the complaints about the CGI… Well the entire budget went to one character who was executed so well that neither of you even noticed. Nick Fury is 30 years younger in this film and he looks fantastic.

This movie making space look boring and Earth look amazing is so true from the moment she lands on the Blockbuster it's like that's where all the life is.
I will say though Marvel directors really know how to waste a talent because seeing something like Room and how insanely good Brie Larson is at acting and then seeing no micro expressions in the whole film is really annoying.
Do people want Ash to fake a reaction? This reaction was fair and calm honestly. Scarlet Witch is one example of how you write an OP character imo, each performance just gets better and better. She carried multiverse of madness.

The movie was the start of the decline in all Disney content. They added loads of women characters to franchises all written poorly. Black Panther was a great example of how to do it right. IMO Thor Love & Thunder is the worst in the MCU list.
