Do you all know the real story of Butkus, the bullmastiff, as well? So, that was really Sylvester Stallone's dog (same dog as in the film) who, when Stallone faced extreme poverty and wasn't having acting success, he had to sell for $40 to buy food. It haunted him. He based "Rocky" on many aspects of his life and the poverty, struggles, self doubt he faced. Then, when he had success with the Rocky script getting picked up, he bought Butkus back for $15,000. The two best (most relatable) moments of this reaction were Ash’s emotional reaction to Mick and Rocky’s relationship 😭 💙 AND Hannah’s reaction to the 🥚 Eggs! LOVE this franchise more than almost any other and after probably 100 watches, I still have that reaction to the eggs 🤮 😂😂😂. THANK YOU FOR THIS! Can’t wait for more Ricky! Love you guys!!

Dear Ash and Hannah. Sharon and I are about to rent Rocky so we can watch the full length video along with you. But I wanted you to know that over the weekend I watched a bunch of reaction compilation videos on YouTube. You know where somebody compile clips of various reactors, reacting to the same movie or clips from the movie. They happened to do several on the movie airplane and of course, the two of you were one of the reactors in those compilations. As you know, we’re big fans of yours, but I have to tell you when your reactions are put side-by-side with dozens of others out there, it just shows you how exceptional and incredible the two of you are. You are so far better and above everybody else that does this, it’s not even close. You are more entertaining, Whittier, funnier, more genuine, and friggin hysterical compared to everybody else. Fun fact Pauly is an actual student of Cus D Amato who was also Mike Tyson's mentor and coach. Round 14 when Mick is telling him to stay down and he still gets up and takes Apollo's soul you see it in his eyes is one of David Goggins greatest motivational pushes he talks about it often.

I think Ash has watched all of them and pretty sure Hannah has only watched Iron Man 1 and the Edward Norton Hulk movie

Amazing reaction to one of my all time favorite movies and the start of my all time favorite movie series. (Except Rocky 5). As Ash said in the beginning, Stallone was broker than broke when he wrote this. United Artists offered Stallone 500,000 dollars for the script and wanted to cast Burt Reynolds as Rocky but Stallone turned them down and insisted he play the role himself. The dog in the movie was Stallone's actual dog and he STILL has the turtles. Some of my favorite lines from this reaction: Ash: "I'm Happy to welcome you on your Rocky journey." Hannah: "Journey??!! How many are there?" Oh you have no idea.... you can skip Rocky 5 though. Hannah: "I'm not an aggressive person." 5 seconds later: "I will cut your scalp off" :) Hannah: "Can you punch him in the dick?" Um.... no. A definition of an all American classic. Rocky is a near perfect film that has a timeless feel towards it, and it’s no wonder it won best picture at the Oscars. This was the role that turned Sylvester Stallone from a small time actor, to a household name. Definitely got to check out the sequels, there a consistently good franchise. Also Cliffhanger is a great Stallone action flick. This was also Carl Weather’s first prominent role, of course you know him from Predator, but also check him out in Action Jackson, and The Mandolorian. Talia Shire is best known for this, and The Godfather movies. Burt Young was also great playing similar roles in The Killer Elite, Convoy, Amityville Horror 2, and Back to School. Of course it’s Burgess Meredith in his most iconic role as Mickey. He’s done a crap ton of of good film, and television roles. I think you’ll love him in the comedy Grumpy Old Men

Haven't seen this since I was a kid so this was basically my first time properly watching. Such a Great Movie Sylvester a legend. I'll wait to watch the second until you get to it. I lowkey miss the grain and sound of 70s 80s movies.

Absolutely absolutely fantastic. Thank you, thank you thank you. There’s a reason why this is a classic film. You have just ended the year for me with a big smile on my face. By the way. Rocky was based upon a real life boxer by the name of Chuck Wepner. He was also also known as the Bayonne bleeder. Look him up online. He is one of the only people to ever knock down Muhammad Ali and there is a famous picture of him standing above Allie who is on the matt in the boxing ring. SYLVESTER STALLONE KNEW OF THIS STORY AND USED IT without paying Mr. Wepner a penny. Years later, Chuck Wepner sued him and they settled out of court for several million dollars. Here is the punch line. As you know, Ash, I live in Bayonne, New Jersey. I work out with Chuck Wepner at the planet fitness here in Bayonne. He’s also a very old friend of my wife, Sharon. Whenever I’m in the gym and I see young guys looking at this 80 year-old man who still is tall as a redwood tree with hands the size of a car working out …..I pull up a picture of him on my cell phone and show them what he looked like in his younger days.
