OMG you’re so right, PLEASE dress as Claire and John for Halloween = Epic! Also, this movie was EVERYTHING back in the day. John Hugh’s made teen life hysterical, wild but way more realistic than movies prior to that. Teenagers talked like teenagers and faced real issues. Well, this older lady grew up watching this and I can say I've never cried during Brian's confession. Not anymore...lol I adore you both<3

There’s a reason this is one of the most iconic high school films out there. It’s a perfect way to get introduced to John Hughes, who’s responsible for bringing us some of the best comedies of the 1980s. National Lampoon’s Vacation series, Mr. Mom, Sixteen Candles, Wierd Science, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Buller’s Day Off, Some Kind of Wonderful, Planes Trains and Automobiles, She’s Having a Baby, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Curly Sue, Dutch, Home Alone 1 and 2, are all good movies he directed, produced or wrote, and all apparently takes place in the same universe. They are some of the best comedies, and dramas from that era that are all worth checking out at least once in your lives. Most of the cast would reunite a couple years later in the movie Saint Elmo’s Fire, another good film.

Fun fact: Molly Ringwald that plays Claire (popular girl) and Anthony Michael Hall that plays Brian (nerd) actually dated during the filming of this movie.
