Fun fact about this movie. In the scene where Steve Carell (Andy) gets angry and walks across the busy road full of traffic to talk to Trish, if you watch closely, there’s a car that has to stop to avoid almost hitting him, while all the rest of the cars strategically miss him. When filming this scene, the road had been closed off for filming and all the cars you see passing at full speed are stunt drivers, however, one local resident ignored the barricade and drove down the road anyway. Carell was instructed to walk across the road and completely ignore all the cars because they were trained professionals who would not under any circumstances hit him. This one civilian driver known as a “bogie” wasn’t expecting a man to just walk across the road and had to slam on his brakes to avoid hitting Carell. Afterward, Carell commented, “that one driver was really skilled with how close he got without hitting him.” Very lucky nothing went wrong that day. 😅
