Loved this reaction!!! Just to let you know, General Grievous was a cyborg. Each villain in the prequels represents a different aspect of Vader. Maul is a being fuelled by hate, Dooku is a fallen Jedi and Grievous is a cyborg who is 'more machine than man' as Obi-Wan says. I'd recommend the Obi-Wan Series next as it's the best follow-up to these prequels, it's honestly amazing. And then I'd recommend the rest of the films; Solo, Rogue One and the Sequel Trilogy. And then all the different series out there. Also, please remember, anyone telling you not to watch certain things, they're the same sad saps who wanted you to not watch this trilogy. Just saying. Gonna help you out so you have some context on the sequels:The reason why real star wars fans don't consider the sequel trilogy as star wars, is because when disney bought star wars, they basically started created content that shitted on the lore and the beloved characters and honestly is just hilariously poor story telling that has no true theme. Some people will say it was to make a lot of money, others will say it's because it's woke or whatever, but the reality is that the sequel trilogy is a poorly written jumbled mess dressed in really nice modern visuals and the creators don't truly understand the star wars universe, lore, and the story. The Prequels was about father failing to live up to his Hero's Journey, and the Originals was about the son succeeding to live up to his Hero's Journey and redeeming the father.... If you end up watching the sequels, you'll see that there really isn't a theme or even a Hero's Journey. But if you decide to react to it, have fun! As much as I love you two, I won't be putting myself through that cluster fuck of a trilogy.

If you guys wanted to watch tv shows, i would say clone wars which takes place between episodes 2 and 3. As long as you are fine with animated stuff. Then the Obi Wan series takes place 10 years after what you just watched. Has Ewan and Hayden playing their roles again.

I will say though... 90% of the issues with the acting was because George Lucas just writes scripts in a very on the nose kinda way which comes off as corny/bad a lot of the time. No way around it no matter how good an actor. Stoked for you two to watch Rogue One. ABSOLUTE banger. Revenge Of The Sith is my favorite SW movie but I think Rogue One is the most well made & its climax is chefsfuckingkiss. Also recommend watching the Kenobi show and if you're not into it just watch the finale cuz man... Finale is on another level.

Watch the Obi-Wan show after this, it’s only 1 season and not too many episodes so it’s pretty easy to get through, and then jump on to Rogue One! That’s THE way for you to keep watching

I definitely agree with some of these comments on what to watch next. Definitely DEFINITELY go for the Obi Wan series next and then Rogue One! That's the correct way to continue. (I would highly recommend watching Clone Wars too tho! To get all the in-between storyline of Anakin. Which is so important) - but I do disagree with people saying the sequels are shit - think just dismissing them is harsh. Yes, they are EASILY my least favourite definitely in the star was saga.... BUT they do have some amazing moments too. I love Force Awakens, but sadly the other 2 just didn't quite make sense or live upto what they should have been. However!!! I still do think you need to watch them to then have closure and a complete end on the Skywalker Storyline. Please do still give them a go. As a star wars fanatic since i can remember, I really believe that if you enjoy the story and world its created in then you will find something to love in each and every film. (Even if some clearly are disappointing overall later on) just enjoy the ride through the galaxy as much as possible! :)

He's the chosen one because he brings balance to the force by destroying the Emperor in ROJ. He just had to turn to the dark side unfortunately. George Lucas even confirmed this.

I really don't get why everybody is hailing Obi Wan so much. Don't get me wrong, I love Obi Wan and he was a great Jedi but if it was up to him in Episode 1 he would have never trained Anakin or at least not agree to let him be trained (too old) but he did it because Qui Gon asked him to do it. When Luke talked to the Ghost of Obi-Wan (in Episode 6) he said: "I can't kill my own father" and Obi-Wan responded with "Then the emperor has already won". Lukes decision not to kill his father (after he has cut off his hand) was indirectly the last missing step for Vader becoming Anakin again. He even threw his light saber away after he had decided not to kill his father. This (throwing away his weapon) was the greatest Jedi decision in all 6 episodes. He was able to stop attacking his father after he had cut off his hand. We all saw that Luke was endlessly raging when he attacked his father after Vader had said "Then perhaps she will". Luke could calm himself when he realized that he was actually doing the same thing his father did to him in Episode 5. Another great moment. He could find back even though he became angry (which is a step to become a Sith according to the Jedis).

The prequels were made by George Lucas, the same guy who made the originals, but the sequels are made by Disney. I will say there are some good aspects of the sequels like the cinematography and world building, but the writing is all over the place. I don't think it will be that bad to watch.

Rouge one next but you should also watch the Mandalorian series and Kenobi series.

I’m old as dirt. I’ve been there as a kid in 77 premiere, Empire, Jedi, Phantom, Attack of clones and of course this one. You’re love of which movies you feel are best I find are mostly based on when you were born. For me, it’s the fondness of the memories from the 80s, most don’t have that. Star Wars was everywhere. Luke and Vader ruled the day. Don’t worry everyone, the children not yet born will think everything till them sucks. These were great. Great reaction guys and some great insight. If you knew some of the deeper backstories and lore you would really go nuts.

There’s a portion of Star Wars fans that are awful. The bullying the kid who played young Anakin got was terrible. Hayden Christensen the same. I hate it when people say this is shit or you shouldn’t watch this. It’s up to you guys to decide. Movies are a form of art and are subjective. I believe the best is Empire Strikes Back, but my personal favourite (largely due to Ian McDiarmid) is Sith.

I will tell you as a life long Star Wars fan, the sequel trilogy does it's best to destroy the legacy of Anakin Skywalker. The storytelling is dogshit & the story is incohesive because they had two different directors that split up the trilogy. I'd highly recommend Rogue One and if you want to expand your Star Wars universe a bit, I'd say watching The Mandolorian Season 1 & 2 would be fun but I'd stay away from the other shows unless you want to dive into the animated series, The Clone Wars. I really don't want you to have to experience the decimation of the story we love and grew up loving by watching the sequel trilogies. They just take away from the story and do nothing to add to it but as always, make your own opinion should you so chose. Cheers Ash & Hannah!

If you loved these movies, you might like the new Star Wars movies which are not as bad as people say they are (mainly because people love 4-6). However, the last movie, episode 9, is not very good. It is all still worth watching if you have not seen them before.

Episodes 1-6 were George Lucas story he also created an animated show Clone wars that takes you through the war that took place between Episodes 2-3. The other shows and movies were released by disney since he sold the franchise in 2012. Its mostly hit or miss, some are ok and some are very bad prob just watch rogue one then the clone wars show or whatever tickles your pickle.

Please don't listen to the whiney sequel cry babies. The biggest mistake the trilogy does is listen to them which ruins the last film. It only enhances the legend of Luke Skywalker, showing how good of a Jedi he really is. It's a loud minority. They are well worth watching. Don't listen to the sea of negativity and just have your own opinion. Exactly how you did with this trilogy. Remember, this trilogy was HATED when it came out by the same kind of people that now hate the sequels.

You definitely should watch the sequels. Not because they’re any good, but because u shouldn’t be left wondering whether or not they are. They are shit, HOWEVER, just remember while watching, you can choose while watching to not include it in your “head canon”. Theres lots of Star Wars content but only the stuff labelled as “canon” really happened, the other stuff are stories that didn’t actually happen (weird concept I know), lucasfilm decide what is and isn’t canon (and they’re owned by Disney). Now what I and a lot of fans do, is depsite the sequels being canon, I don’t include them in my head canon, so in my version of Star Wars in my own mind, they didn’t happen and don’t exist. Also yes rogue one is excellent. On another note, do you guys read the comments on the full length react YouTube videos? I promise, PROMISE, that you both need to watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi series; y’all need the Anakin/Obi closure. Are there flaws? Sure. Are they worth it? Definitely. I’d also recommend the Clone Wars series because it adds *so* much to Revenge of the Sith, but that’s a bigger undertaking. And also, Anakin has no arms. Dooku took one in Attack of the Clones and Obi got a 3-for-1 special there at the end. 😅

Other than Rogue One, I wouldn't recommend watching any "Star Wars" media made by Disney. The overwhelmingly large majority of the Star Wars fan base all agree that the shit Disney made has ruined the story and characters George Lucas created.

7) The emperor used an even better method than just telling Anakin about Darth Plagueis. Anakin never had a father. Qui Gon became the first man who treated Anakin like a son. Giving him belief in many ways. Being proud that he won the pod racer race and also showing Anakin his belief when he instantly told the council that he will train Anakin if the council doesn't believe in him. Anakin felt the first time like he has a father. The emperor was very very strategic when he took this father role after qui gon died. Always telling Anakin how proud he is about him, that he thinks Anakin is stronger than the whole council (which Qui Gon also kind of told him but in a better way; by ignoring the council and training Anakin himself and showing him that there is someone who believes in him - the chosen one). But the emperor also manipulated him right from the start by being proud of him and creating anger because the council showed disbelief in many ways. 8) The method of the emperor led to arrogance and anger. The perfect tools to create hate. Like I have already written Qui Gon showed belief in Anakin by ignoring the decision of the council and to train Anakin himself. The emperor used this moment to create anger and hate in Anakin. Anakin said already in episode 2 that he is way much stronger than any council member; but he said it with pure anger and arrogance. While Qui Gon wanted to show Anakin belief and motivation the emperor wanted to increase hate and arrogance in Anakin. All of that just because the council treated Anakin like shit. Forbidding love (because of their "code"; I am pretty sure that Qui Gon would have found a way to deal with Anakins love), not believing in his potential and many other things. The emperor on the other hand always told him that he is way much stronger than the council and also told him about a way to save life. Let's be honest; probably 99% of young humans would act the same way like Anakin did. I don't mean the genocide, only the anger and the arrogance. 9) The emperor was lying at the end of Anakins "surgery" because he wanted to make Darth Vader feel even "emptier" and guilty now that Padme is dead and that he killed her. But if he had actually killed Padme (when he gripped her) then there wouldn't be Luke and Leia^^ Regarding Episode III: Unfortunately they have cut two very important scenes which show how the emperor "found out" about Anakins Love and also used it immediately to create the fear that she and Obi Wan might be up to something! This is why he was even angrier when Obi Wan arrived with Padme on Mustafa! I really really recommend to watch Episode IV - VI again now! Because you will see many points differently now! Especially the ending of episode VI. If you watch it again look very closely at Anakins Face after Luke has taken off his helmet! When he saw Luke, he smiled :)

The clones weren’t rats. Think of it like “get out” the movie, when they heard the specific command they had no choice but to execute the plan. There’s a comic about the blue female Jedi (1:21:49) that was in a romantic relationship with the clone commander. And yet in the comic he tried to mentally fight back but couldn’t 😞 and kill her with tears

one of the best points of the movie is padmes death is a self-fulfilling prophecy. she never would've died had he not done anything to prevent it and they could've had the babies in lake country on naboo. there are also theories that Palpatine planted futures of the false dreams into anakins mind to get him to the dark side

If you want to continue with Star Wars Movies and Series I can suggest with a good conscience Rogue One, the Andor Series and The Mandalorian and maybe even Clone Wars. Disney really messed up and rushed the Sequels though especially with "The last Jedi" and "The Rise of Skywalker", which half of the Star Wars Fans worldwide could've written better, poor Character development, overpowering certain figures without any validation or training etc. If you choose to watch the Obi-Wan-Kenobi series, be also prepared for bad writing, like in the last GoT-Season. If it weren't for the last Episode, I'd say they completely ruined this beautiful Character of Obi Wan, but the series is watchable because of it. Iv waited for this since I heard you where doing star wars nearly a year ago. 1st sidious created the clone army, the separatist crisis, he literally played both sides of the clone war like a chess board with his apprentice dooku on the other side. This was THE longest sword duel in film history, and they practiced so much they where that fast irl. The sequel trilogy never happened. It's not Canon. The show mandalorian was good. The prophecy actually said: "The chosen one will bring balance to the Force". "by destroying(!) the Sith" was also added to the prophecy by an ancient Jedi who recorded it on a holocron. But does destroying the Sith bring balance to the force? Let's focus on the word balance. Balance means both scales shall be even. But the Force is referencing to the light and the dark side. Not the Jedi and the Sith. Let us ignore everything but Episode I - VI 1) Qui Gon: I need a midi-chlorian count Obi Wan: The reading is off the chart. Over 20.000. Even Master Yoda doesn't have a midi-chlorian chart that high. Qui Gon: NO JEDI HAS ! 2) The Jedi council originally thought that the Sith had been extinct until Qui Gon told them about Darth Maul (or as he says a "Sith Lord") 3) The moment Qui Gon told the council of Anakin and that he may be the chosen one he has also said: "Finding him was the will of the force, I have no doubt(!) of that". Mace Windu on the other hand already showed disbelief(!) when he moaned before he said: "Bring him before us, then". 4) Obi Wan: The boy will not pass the council's test, Master. He's too old. Qui Gon: Anakin will become a Jedi, I promise you. Obi Wan: Do not defy the council, Master, not again Qui Gon: I shall do what I must, Obi Wan. Obi Wan: If you would just follow the code, you would be on the council 5) All the disbelieves were the first steps to create anger in Anakin - not just his fear to lose his mother. Being declined, not given a chance. At least Yoda said "Mmm. Clouded this boys future is". The Jedi Council didn't really "follow" their code. They showed ignorance. They showed no serenity. They only followed their own belief and not the Jedi code or at least not the true values of the Jedi Code. 6) In episode III there has been a discussion between Obi-Wan, Mace Windu and Yoda -> Mace: I don't think the boy can handle it. I don't trust him. Obi Wan: With all due respect master, is he not the chosen one? Is he not to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the force. Mace: So the prophecy says. Yoda: A prophecy that MISREAD could have been. conclusion: I think Anakin brought balance to the force...by killing the emperor and all jedis. Luke had to follow his own path of the Force but the corruption was destroyed. The Jedis also brought chaos to the force. There were only 2 people who truly believed Anakin was the chosen one. Qui Gon and Palpatine. And Palpatine wanted to gain this power and manipulate it. I don't mean that Anakin was destined to kill innocent children. But the Force is just like Mother Nature -> Balanced and Neutral. The only question was: HOW will Anakin bring balance to the force. Everything and Everyone around him led him to the way how he will bring balance. And the last act of Anakin (or Darth Vader) was killing the emperor because of his love for his son. So at the end an emotion brought balance to the force which shows us that the Jedis are not the rulers of the force. Only the force itself rules. And Qui Gon was the only Jedi (of this generation) who thought this way. Like I already mentioned it, He would have followed the will of the force and train Anakin, no matter what the Jedi Council says. Yoda didn't mention without reason that Obi Wan can now commune with his old master Qui Gon who became one with the force. %

i would absolutely love to see you guys watch clone wars, it gives order 66 such more depth and meaning for how it effected the clones, even as an animated series its one of the few Star Wars series that has very solid world building and the politics of the galaxy are further explored, i think its something you guys could enjoy and fall in love in it

General Grievous was an alien who had so much cybernetic implants, he was more machine then alien. That's why he coughed so much. He is kinda like a bridge villain to prepare for what Darth Vader is(Half man half machine) to show just how much technology can keep a person alive in the star wars universe. Windu and yoda didn't want Anakin trained because he was too old. but they got out-voted in the council to train him. so they were the most distrustful of Anakin's bond with the chancellor, however, the chancellor had maneuvered so politically well that their hands were tied. Jedi don't look in the future because its dangerous. it's kinda like a go with the flow philosophy. looking in the past and into the future is a Sith thing. that is why yoda told Anakin to be careful about sensing the future. Attachment (love for padme) leads to jealously. Anakin was more jealous(fear of losing something)he feared losing Padme more than he was of loving Padme. that made him fearful...which as yoda said, turns to anger(he chokes her), then to hate(which he says to Obiwan after getting his legs chopped off) then to suffering which he suffers all the way up to his death in episode 6. YODA WAS RIGHT THIS WHOLE TIME!!! Star wars is called a "space opera"

So so so fun to watch this with you!!! ❤️ Rogue One is the only other movie I like in the franchise (besides the ones you've already watched) and I'd love to watch with you all!! The Obi series was not good, I know others like it but, for me Ewan McGregor was the only redeeming part, otherwise bad writing, bad acting, slow, and the villian fell flat 😕 (plus it's focused on a 7 year old acting as Leia and its just hard to watch 😮‍💨) the last 3 movies (episodes 7-9) are okay but definitely a Disney vibe which in my opinion kinda ruins them. 😅 But they'd be really fun to watch WITH you guys! Definitely an improvement on me watching alone! ❤️

Yeah Rouge One would be a good one to do next. the Kenobi show is somewhat of a continuation of this current story and is only six episodes. Also to clarify, Palpatine, Yoda and yes Anakin are all stronger than Obi Wan Ash. I know Kenobi wins and that is what adds to the final fight, the stunt co said in n interview that is was a tough and fun to co-ordinate. Anakin though stronger at that time was not in his right mind, and certainly not in the right mind for a fight, though he does keep talking himself up. Anakin's whole world just fell apart and the stunt team had fun trying to portray a stronger fighter completely unhinged vs a weaker fighter who is in control of his emotions. I think it comes across fairly well, and the whole fight is pretty even till Kenobi gains an advantage and Anakin who is already off the deep end completely ignores it thinking he is far to powerful for it to even be a factor. Even if you are stronger doesn't mean you should ignore when someone has a tactical advantage. Nice reaction, love Start Wars 1-6 plus Rouge One.

I have watched your entire Star Wars journey (so far) and I am very pleased with how deep you dive into the story and the entire world the franchise offers. I particularly enjoy the way you interpret the scenes your way and discuss the plot and theme with each other (and of course, you're pretty spot-on quite often! :D ). It is a genuine pleasure to watch the two of you enjoy one of the greatest franchises (if not THE greatest) ever created not only in film history, but in history in general. I have watched both the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy so many times ever since I was thirteen (im turning forty soon) that it has always been a part of my life when I was feeling down and needed some escapism from time to time. And seeing you being so overwhelmed by Star Wars is simply a joy of its own to me. :) As for more Star Wars content: Many people have suggested the standalone movie "Rogue One" and that is indeed by far the best live-action movie in the franchise that came after the prequels, so it's a major thumbs-up for me as well, should you decide to watch it. However, and I might be in the minority here: I do have a soft spot for the animated Clone Wars series that was on air in the early to mid 2010's, which is set between Episode 2 and Episode 3 canonically. It starts off a little slow and "all over the place" in terms of continuity and intensity, but it eventually becomes really amazing. So if you don't mind watching a series that is also CGI animated instead of live-action, you might want to consider giving it at least a try. :) There is also a "pilot movie" of the same name to the series that sets the rough plot outline and while the movie is more or less "mediocre", I would suggest also watching it beforehand so the series can be put better into context that way. :) Lastly, there is also the Rebels series that plays between Episodes 3 and 4 which has an entirely new cast, but the show is actually pretty good too (especially the last two seasons) and it has some cameos I think you will appreciate greatly according to what you mentioned so far in your reactions (the same can be applied to the Clone Wars series of course). :) Either way, I will definitely keep watching other stuff from you in the future (especially with movies/shows I'm familiar with) and I hope you two stay the way you are. :)

After that if you want to stay in the universe I would consider Mandalorian and Ashoka but you might need to watch some reviews of the Clone wars series and Rebels before Ashoka.

Andor and Rogue One are the absolute best pieces of Star Wars media Disney has produced. Andor is just about the rise of the rebellion and there's a lot of dialogue but holy sht the symbolisms about freedom and anti-fascism ideas are just incredible and sososo deep. I recommend you watch it 3 episodes at a time to fully appreciate it because it's 12 in total and it really pays off with incredible acting and writing. Thank you guys for this reaction, it was an absolutely wonderful experience with you both, one of the best reactions to Episode 3 1000%.

Fantastic reaction Ash and Hannah ☺️ been waiting for episode 3 for so long and I'm glad it's here now. I'm so glad you e both now seen Anakin's downfall. It truly is heartbreaking. You two have had some fantastic reactions to what happened to Anakin in this movie. And I could feel both of your hearts break as the movie went on. Episode 3 is amazing. It's my second favourite, after Empire strikes back. In regards to the sequels. I would recommend watching them. It's always nice to watch more Star Wars. And you'll be curious likely anyway. I think there are things to like. There were definitely parts I enjoyed. However there are some issues as the trilogy goes on. But keep an open mind I guess and try to enjoy as much as you can. ☺️ But I think it's worth noting that George Lucas' story is now over. There are a few shows (set during the prequels) and Rouge One which fans generally consider to be a part of George Lucas' story, but after this point, George Lucas has sold Star Wars to Disney. So I think it would be nice for you to see the Disney sequels but also good to remember George Lucas' story is done. (And what a great one it is ) the story he wanted to tell about fathers and sons and love and betrayal is done now. And by the end of return of the Jedi, actually is all wrapped up quite nicely and comes full circle. Now, from this point onwards, it's Disney Star Wars. Just a helpful distinction to remember I find. ☺️ A few details you might find interesting- Padme's last words were: "there's still good in him" Darth Vader/ Anakin's last words are: "you were right". At the end of return of the Jedi. If you go and watch the original trilogy now you'll have a new respect and view of everything Obi-Wan and Darth Vader says. It's really cool to see. The prophecy of Anakin being the chosen one is true- from a certain point of view- Anakin did bring balance to the force. He killed the Sith (Emperor Palpatine and himself) in Return of the Jedi. It just took longer than the Jedi saw. So with the help of his son's faith in him and refusal to believe his father was truly gone, Anakin returned and killed the Sith. And Luke became the last Jedi. On Mustafar Anakin actually got both legs and his remaining arm cut off so he has no natural limbs anymore. Having lost the other arm in episode 2. The lava also burnt his lungs and organs so badly that the suit he is put in is keeping him alive. An interesting detail is that the main 3 villains of the prequels each represent a part of Darth Vader. Episode one- Darth Maul: the faithful, brutal servant to Palpatine. Sent to do Palpatine's bidding. Just like Vader becomes. Episode two- Count Dooku: the Jedi who left the Order and became a Sith, Just like Anakin did. Episode three- General Grievous: a part biological, part robot that lost most of his body and replaced with cybernetics. Just like Darth Vader. So each of them are symbolically a piece of what would make up Darth Vader. I would recommend watching the madolorian show as well as the recent Kenobi series too. They have a few iffy moments but there's lots there to like as well. Anyway I have rambled on enough haha 😂. This was such a cool reaction to watch. Look forward to more from you both soon ☺️

Continue and watch them all imho. They may not be as good as the OG 6 but it's still fun to see the world building and the characters. Just think of them as fanfic and not part of the original lore. Oh and PLEASE consider doing Andor eventually (it's a one season tv show on Disney). It's amazing, you will love it. Honestly it's in my top 3 of favorites for the Star Wars franchise.

Ash you have it right. The story is about fathers and sons, and the redemptive power of that relationship. Anakin never had a real father to guide and protect him, but in the end his son helps him redeem himself. Anakin fulfills the role of a protective father in the end by rescuing his own son. By the way, the rest of the Star Wars films weren't made by the original creator, George Lucas. Just bear that in mind if you watch them. They're enjoyable, but these films are his original vision.

You have to watch Rogue One (film) and Obi-Wan next the (TV series) on Disney+ its about what happens right after this, also the scenes of Obi and Ani fighting the speed everything was all done without speeding up the footage they were so comfortable and so good at the choreography that they could fight at that speed.. Also when you see Anakin crying just before Padme turns up and you mention his eyes are normal again that's because Anakin is so conflicted that he trying to fight Vader and knows what hes done is wrong that's why his eyes were changing is shows when he is Vader and when he is Anakin

The clones have something called an inhibitor chip in their brains. So they kill the Jedi on a specific command. They have no control over it so they are also victims

Some of the stuff that has come out since Disney bought Lucasfilm seems good on surface level so you might enjoy it, but ultimately they don't understand or respect the universe and they are just milking the franchise and trying to make it their own. Rogue One doesn't try to do outlandish things and therefore it's a great action flick. Obviously if you enjoy any of the other movies and shows more power to you but just giving you my perspective. This coming from someone who defended Disney throughout the first years so Episode 7 and 8 and the Mandalorian I was totally on board. Book of Boba Fett and Rise of Skywalker is where they lost me.

USUALLY new fans dont mind the sequels that much so if you wanna finish it all, go for it but ill be straight with you... the sequels have some MAJOR issues that, atleast for long time fans, are very hard to overlook. Otherwise there are still the han solo movie and rogue one, with the latter being very well praised among fans. (Also watch the clone wars show it makes the prequels 10424024 times better)
