Gravity is overrated with ground breaking special effects and americas swetheart. LIFE with Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds is a better space movie

Lol alright let's drop some info. Newton's first law an object in motion will stay in motion unless it is acted upon by another force. In earth's atmosphere gravity and air resistant is the other force. In space there is nothing to stop an object. That's why thew crew can't just turn the ship around, they would have to use fuel just to stop the ship and turn it around.
I have seen so many space movies in the last few months that I could go without another one for a long time. Still, if you want to see a good one based on a true story, Apollo 13 is excellent, with a great cast. To answer one of your questions, I have heard that The Martian is scientifically accurate.

Hey guys! For me "The Martian" wasn't available on Netflix but it was available to rent/buy on Vudu.com. I'm in the US on 4/20/24

Once connected, you can open a new browser, navigate to Netflix like normal, and have access to the UK offerings of Netflix. To get back to the US version, you just disconnect your VPN (or connect to a US location) and reopen your browser/navigate to Netflix again.

Answers to a few of your questions: Pathfinder was the first Mars rover. It was sent up in 1997. A SOL is a "solar day" on Mars. Because of the distance, its orbit around the sun is about 40 minutes longer than Earth's. A botanist is a plant scientist. Vicodin is a pain medication. I'm sure it must taste disgusting. I think Mark was just so tired of the taste of potatoes.

fun reaction, I love you guys and I love this movie! I know the head Nasa guy comes off as overly insensitive at times, but the thing with his position is that the media response and public opinion absolutely matter, and Nasa can't really hide anything from them. Nasa is a government agency indirectly funded by public opinion. He is burdened with trying to keep the entire agency alive and functional, and loss of public approval could absoultely cause the agency to become defunded. So he doesn't really have the luxury of not considering the public reaction to any event. And that's why he works so closely with the head of Media Relations constantly.
You should check netflix's Don't look up. It's amazing.
