Chapter 5 - Part 3: Week 21 Progress

Hey all,

I wish I had more visible progress to show you, but truthfully, I've been hitting a wall with a lot of the dialogue, which was holding up the line for everything else. I probably should have taken another day or two to work on something else, but ironically, I really wanted to get more finished, so I inadvertently chose to spin my wheels instead of breaking to progress slightly more. I fully expect to lose some subs for another poor performance week, but as usual, I would rather be honest with you all.

Despite having a lot of chatter to get through in S11, I was finally able to wrap the first draft for all the S11 dialogue. It will no doubt require some future passes for polish, but the hard part is over. It will be a lot easier to edit existing dialogue now that I found a way to finish the conversation. At this point, it's safe to say that the heavy lifting for S9, 10 and 11 is finished. There's still definitely work to be done there, but most of the pieces are finished, and I should only need to fill in the gaps between the bricks.

I'm nearly pulling out my hair finding ways to get around my creative blocks, so pray for me, homies!
Much love
JB

Thanks JB for the dev log, where do you get you dialogue creativity from? I’m always curious how you devs find the inspiration to create the dialogue? Does creating the scene help what you want to write or do you write first then create the scenes? Your dialogue is amazing, I enjoy reading every word, but then I play other games and I find myself skipping through the dialogue, it’s not as interesting as yours is, I feel like sometimes different devs just fill the space with dialogue that has no meaning, yours has never done that!! We appreciate you JB🥰✌️

Thank you for being so kind, and I wish I could tell you, but given all my current creativity issues, I may not be the best person to ask heh. For the most part, sometimes the creative juices flow and the dialogue feels like it writes itself, and other times, like more recently, that creativity dries up and it feels like I've forgotten what words even mean.
