Chapter 5 - Part 3: Week 7 Progress
Hey Homies,
This week was a bit of a slog for some reason. My PC was acting up for a couple days and it took a little while for it to sort itself out. I'm still not exactly sure why it was being difficult, but my leading theory is an expensive one, so I'm hoping that I'm wrong. Still, I'm trying to budget some money to replace the potentially faulty part next month to avoid anything tragic from happening.
As for the actual progress, I only just made it through the scene I spoke of last week. I realized that this particular portion of the scene should play out a little faster than the rest, so I had to make more renders for it to balance things out. On the other hand, I'm fully finished with that scene now, and I can move on to bigger and better things.
As I mentioned last week, now that I'm over the biggest hurdle for section 9, I should be able to get a much better estimate for this chapter's progress bar as soon as I start digging into the rest of the content. There's still a lot to do, but thankfully, things are so interesting that I haven't been experiencing my usual creative burnout when working on the same scene for this long. I very much hope that translates into the gameplay.

Is the MC at some point finally going to be able show his skills? Or is he going to be a pushover pussy the rest of the game? I'm loving the game so far, but damn, by chapter 5 it's getting extremely annoying. We are supposed to believe he's some special gigachad, yet the guy couldn't even handle that drunk loser Kyle at the bar. Then after not being allowed to fight during the first tournament, I was hoping we'd get to see him kick some ass next time..... but nope, you then get your ass kicked by a random soldier(Ella). And then after that, you can't beat Jenna either. How the hell did the MC go from almost beating Miranda the first time he picked up a weapon 3 years ago, to now he can't even beat some randos? Shit, he couldn't even win the damn hammer game with Jenna. At least he redeemed himself by blasting the tower with magic. Also the sex animations seem to be getting better, so that's good. I know im being harsh, but im just a bit dissapointed with the MC's combat skills, and i'm sure he's going to get his ass kicked by the Gauld soon too lol.
Responding to this whole thing will be exhausting, but I'll try my best. First, I don't discuss what may or may not happen in future updates, so any questions about future releases will only be answered with time. Sorry. As for the rest, IMO good characters are written to have obstacles to overcome. I don't know if there was some mistake I made along the way, but I never intended to write a Gigachad character. Writing the kind of character who is instantly good at everything and beats up everyone in their path is very boring. Sure he gets the girls, but I'd like to think that's his only 'Gigachad' Trait. At least you can be relieved that he never actually fought Kyle, so there was no lose there. Getting knocked over because you caught someone else shouldn't count as a lose IMO. He also didn't actually lose his fight to Jenna or Ella since both fights were interrupted. Also, to me, it isn't a big stretch to conceive that a nimble fighter could outpace him, or that someone of moderately equal strength, who fights a war every day, could keep an inexperienced soldier like him on his toes. As for 'almost beating Miranda in their first fight'. He only surprised Miranda because she wasn't taking the fight serious. Remember her suspiciously repetitive sword swings? She was in training mode and just testing him to get a read on his basic skill level. His meager offensive was surprising, but only lasted only a few seconds before she took control again.
