Chapter 5 - Part 2: Week 31 Progress

Hey all,

I'm very happy with my progress this week! Despite how janky and incomplete some sections still are, I was able to assemble enough of the code to start testing! So far, I'm thrilled with how things are turning out. It still needs a lot of work, as some scenes are only hastily cobbled and patched together just to get things running, but I'm extremely optimistic about how the final results will turn out.

So far, everything in section 7 seems solid! I only had time to do one run through so far, and it was mostly just going slowly from line-by-line and render-by-render to make sure everything was in working order. I'll likely need a few runs on it to refine everything before I'm ready to give it a stamp of approval, but it's looking great so far. 

I was able to test to a point where I noticed some minor pacing issues during one of the important scenes in section 8 that I had previously considered complete. However, good news, better news! First, I should only need a single animation and a handful of renders to close the gap. And second, I've already finished most of the images, and have the animation prepped and ready to render overnight. However, in all fairness, I've only been able to crawl through the scene with a magnifying glass and haven't had a proper chance to actually play it yet, so for all I know it may need even more. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure it's one of those scenes which people would appreciate the extra content for once it's complete.

The scene that I still need the most (potentially the rest) of the update's content for is still a little out of my grasp for testing. However, I've had much more time to think on the direction I want that scene to go, and it's a great direction IMO. It's hard to tell how far into the scene I am without knowing how much more content I'll need for it, but as mentioned above, it's one of those scenes where the more there is, the better.
