I found a popup scammer operating in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir and decided to track the scam payments from the victims right back to the scammer's bank account.
The journey involved tracking the payments from victims right back to the scammer's personal bank account. The police got involved too.

Horrible humans. And YOU got them!!!! Thank you thank you. As I have told you before, my father has been scammed out of so much money by these horrible humans. And NOW we know these were some of the people who scammed my 93 year old father. Thank you!!!!!!

Yeah, Iri, I agree profile delete may be too extreme. I *believe* she did say it was FB. Lois post sounded at wits end and I tend to go automatic "help a human" mode. Respect your perspective and so deleted my remarks. After all, this isn't an advice forum.....
While the advice about blocking his number and deleting him from contacts is good, deleting her entire user profile is simply excessive, spiteful, and useless. He most likely made first contact via social media (my money's on FB) or email, so what exactly is destroying all her files, photos, e-books, etc. supposed to accomplish? If she wants to keep her away from him, she probably needs to take temporary control of any social media accounts she might have and monitor her computer access.

I need help with my mother. She is being brain washed by a guy pretending to be Keanu Reeves. She just sent him almost her whole social security check and upon further investigation I saw she has been sending most of it for the last few months. She won’t believe anyone, even her doctors who are telling her he is a scammer. All because she saw him “talking” to her in a video call on so,e app. She won’t watch anything I try to show her and/or read other stories. There is no support anywhere for this and I can’t get POA on her bc she still has her sanity. I’ve called AARP, too, her to the police station to follow a complaint, and have message Trilogy media. No one can help bc she willingly gave the money. She just yeses the police and then comes home and goes right back to talk to him. I commented on Trilogy Media video and it looks like a reply from them saying to contact them via telegram app?? Never heard of it but upon checking it looked like WhatsApp. I don’t think I can trust that either. I don’t know what to do. She has no money and I pay her bills. She lives with me so when I found out I told her she has to start paying and that I am not paying her stuff anymore. Nothing is helping. She just keeps saying I’ll see.

This scammer is rotten to the core, taking advantage of Larry in addition to the scams. What a great job you and Trilogy Media are doing to expose these people. I am being plagued with “insurance for my washing machine” has expired and so far I have had several different makes. Take care and thanks a million for everything

These people are just scum. It's a shame that the Indian authorities will do absolutely nothing.
This "do you think I'm a fool" must be a big thing for scammers. I've been asked that exact question a couple times while helping people with tech support scams, and I always just answer honestly. Somehow they never seem to take it very well.
