My experience: Remove all scripts. Repair game. Clean EA cache. Delete Cookies/temp files. Mark current Sim Folder as OLD. Load. Start a new game w/random sim. If game plays, set game options; save, exit. Now comes the real work. Transfer OLD save file to the new save. Adjust file number so there is no duplicate save file number. Then transfer OLD tray files and any screenshots. Clear all cache files, clear EA cache again. Load the new game file; ignore the old game file. If game loads to play, there is no corruption and you can begin put mods back in. Exit. Clear all caches. Transfer the Mod folder from the old game to the new game. Load. If it will not load, you have a mod conflict. Suggest Tmex Better Exceptions or the tried and true 50/50 method, plus delete cache files new try. Note: there may be more than one problem pkg, mod, or cc item that is causing the failure to load. Use Tmex or 50/50 again and again eliminating problems as you go. Check for updates of favorite scripts, mods, and CC. Eventually you'll weed out all problem files, just persevere. Good luck!
