Liora Voice Actor Applications: Test Commission
Alright, we enter the last round to decide who will voice Liora! As I mentioned from the prerelease post, sadly Aestra dropped out so we are left with two candidates. To check out the full commission, I recommend grabbing the prerelease build and watching the Edgar Date 1 scene. I will post an overview of the commission results here.
Before we look at the individual submissions, here are some rough stats on the test commission itself:
Test Commission: Edgar Date 1 (Including repeatable masturbation module but without some modules such as first time masturbation)
Word Count: ~500 Words (SFW Part: 300 Words)

Note: Very easy to talk to. Seems a bit tech savy, was able to work immediately with the HTML files I provided. I would however offer her double her current rates should we decide to go with Allure as it seems her rates are too low when I compare it with the competition.

Costs: 296 USD (This included a line splittting service for 45 USD that I would be able to cut down on with a script that I wrote that can do this part automatically now. On the other hand, due to some miscommunication, the moaning background sound is not included here. I mistook the general item on her invoice for doing moaning during dialogue as the moaning background loop. There is also no moaning background loop in the MimiHung version of the prerelease build because of this.)
Note: Also easy to talk to and it shows that she has a 10+ years of experience with this.

Both had very fast turnaround times so I don't forsee a production bottleneck with either of them. As you can see with the prices, it ultimately comes down to a younger less experience VA who is cheaper vs a more experienced VA with a price tag for that experience.
If we want to voice the full game with MimiHung I would probably need to schedule another 300€/month budget increase on the VA budget. On the other hand, I believe that would be the only budget increase necessary despite to balance out the higher pricing. Also, if we just focus on cutscenes and lewd scenes I believe the current budget would suffice.
What I want to say is that the price difference is at the end of the day not a make or break, especially since I am of course also hoping that voice acting will be an investment that also brings in money.
On the other other hand (:'D), cheaper prices of course also means more freedom in commissioning retakes to fix lines... Well there is much to consider here.

While I agree Allure`s voice might be more fitting, MimiHung is just plain better. I had my doubts when I read her price, but we would be getting our money`s worth.
So MimiHung is definitely a talented voice actress. However, Allure really does fit the character better. I can feel the character's naivety in Allure's performance and that is awesome to hear.
I feel like Allure fits the character more.Like the voice just fits better in my personal opinion.
I'm honestly torn between the two, right now I like Allure more, but there is this gut feeling that as the character of Liora becomes more corrupted MimiHung's voice actresses's tone begins to fit more. I'm a bit sad that the story hasn't gotten far enough for there to be some fully corrupt material for either of the voice actors to work with (not at all blaming that on aura-dev by the way, its just the nature of the game). \
MimiHung is my choice i always preferred similar voice to her compared to the cuter voice types
im chosing Allure cause her Voice sounds Cuter. mimi is good but i just like Alure more
Both are great in their own ways I like how allure fits the setting well with a younger more innocent voice. However Mimi nailed the way the emotions change moment to moment so it's a tough call. If allure can exaggerate her emotions more than it would be perfect imo. Going from white text to pink and do the sarcasm more over the top. Whoever gets chosen in the end it will be great.
Tough one. MimiHung has a huskier, sexier voice and emphasizes more the distinction between inner voice and speech (could be easily fixed with Allure though). Allure has a more nasal voice and flat tone, but sounds younger, so age appropriate. Went for Mimi.
They're both good in their own way!
I preferred Allure overall - seems to have a more English-native accent to my ear, which helps with all the character and place names in the setting, and I thought she did a better job inferring the context of sarcastic lines and differentiating the parenthetical vs smalltext vs out-loud portions
Going with Mimi. No shade to Allure. But mimi fits the character more imo
I'm going with Mimi here since IMO her delivery on the angry lines were consistently significantly better than Kate's, and getting those lines right is the most important part.
Totally agreed, and with her experience I also suspect she'll take any direction from Auradev a lot easier if there are any minute details that we'd like to see a bit different. Either way it'll be a great performance but I think Mimi will bring that extra "oomf" to the performance!
