I have commissioned the top three candidates of last week's VA application poll for a test commission of the Edgar Date 1 scene. The top were Allure (small name change due to wishes of the VA), MimiHung and AestraAzure.

For those who voted for Aestra I must sadly disappoint you that she didn't manage to make the deadline for today. We spoke yesterday about her delivering me the file for the first part of the event so I could check it for any issues, and she completely started spiraling from anxiety and then I woke up to a refund on the morning. It's probably partially my fault as I should have made Thursday the deadline instead of Friday to discourage potential quality issues from last-minute submissions. But based on the reactions, I don't think she would be able to handle the stress from voicing a full project.

So, we have two candidates remaining. For those who don't have access to the prerelease builds, I have created youtube videos showcasing the SFW part of the now voiced Edgar Date scene. I will post them in the follow-up poll post after this one.

What I would like to briefly address in this post is how you can experience both VA versions using the prerelease builds:

If you check out the MEGA download links, you will for this week only find two different builds. One using Allure's voice files. Another using MimiHung's. If you use the itch link, you will only see one where Allure's files are used (as she submitted first and I built my import script pipeline with her files as the basis). MimiHung's version is supplied through a mod under mods/va-mimihung. If you want to turn her version on, change the enabled flag in the Meta.json to on.

You also don't have to download both versions if you are using MEGA. I just supplied both for convenience in case you don't want to mess with mod settings. If you downloaded either version through MEGA, you can here also control which VA you want to hear via the enabled flag of the va-mimihung mod.

As a reminder: Only the Edgar Date 1 scene is voiced, no other versions. I recommend using the recollection room to trigger the event and make sure it really is the first event.

Depending on your game state, you may run into some untranslated lines as I didn't commission for all sub modules to get voiced. The masturbation module is voiced, so to get the most out of it, you want the masturbation contract + masturbation time extensions + announce cumming. The first time masturbation story module on the other hand isn't voiced so don't be surprised about the lack of VA during that part.

On the technical side, I integrated an existing RPGMaker plugin so VA clips can have their own audio channel, setting and generally rules of stopping and interrupting them. I have done some customization so it works with the whole game framework but further customization of when voice clips should stop playing or be interrupted (e.g. what happens if you open a menu while a voice clip is playing) still needs to be considered in the future.

Finally, there is a small technical improvement from our assistant developer Trihan that will help our translators by introducing intra-database inheritance. Essentially, it makes certain states and skills reuse properties such as messages from other objects so they don't have to be defined again and again.

I hope the audio integration all worked because my upload system isn't made for multi-deployments like this so putitng out bigfixes while maintaining both va modes is going to be annoying x_X

PS: The deluxe mega folder somehow has a weird doubled MimiHung file because I managed to somehow corrupt the folders and mega thinks there are two but they link to the same place and I can't get rid of it and I'm getting too tired to figure out wtf is going there...
