A folklore story for Halloween part 1
I have spoken of Dan Angus here before. Who doesn’t love a good story? At Halloween every year, there is a gathering at the museum in the village where people tell ghost stories. It was always one of my favourite events of the year. In Dan Angus’ day, the stories were great. It is still going on - in fact, I host it every year now, lately. If you want to come, it is this Sunday night. But you better bring a story!
Here is Dan Angus himself telling the story. But I got this version from Cape Breton’s Magazine.

This is SO good!
This is so lovely and it reminds me so much of rakugo, which of course is because they’re both oral and dramatic and I can’t imagine how it must have felt to sit there and hear this story. Thank you for sharing! I’ll have to remember a few stories I’ve heard over the years …
So exciting!
I had “Walk Away” by The James Gang stuck in my head for over 2 weeks before it finally went away. Then a little while after that my wife started complaining about having a song stuck in her head, and I said something like “that’s nothing — I had a song stuck in my head for over two weeks!” She responded by asking which song, and for the life of me I couldn’t remember the name of it. And so, in a moment of unimaginable hubris, I not only looked the song up, but went one step further and played it for her to demonstrate its ear-worminess. That was 4 days ago. “Seems to meeeee…” …Anyway, sooner or later the grave calls for us all. Just hope you don’t have a minor hit from an early 1970s power trio stuck in your head when it calls for you.
Carmella, the axe murderer who escaped from prison last week isn't technically a ghost...but some of the listeners soon will be.
😍 I'm loving this story (a graveyard with a ghost so loud everyone has to move away!) and your visuals so much. I too will not rest until I find out what happens.
Great! I wish I could come.
Terrific! I am at the edge of my seat for the conclusion.
Cliffhanger, nooOoOOOOOooo!
Oooh, waiting for Part 2!
Cliffhanger, aiee!
We shiver with antici...
I love this so much 🥰!
