I operated a small WISP that covered over a 100 square miles using Mikrotik equipment and a few other brands. It's all low power, low voltage, even had a solar-powered setup for rural area.

Can you ask someone in the Ukraine army if they know about Mikrotik? That company is based in Latvia and they make high quality IP radios for point to point and point to multi-point for long distant communications. Using these radios, they could fly the drones almost as well as or maybe as good as the starlink does now.
