Ramble: Jenny summarizes and reviews a popular TV show that she's never actually seen, as if she has
I don't mean to come down too hard on the guy who can't act. I meant to mention that in that scene where the men admit their love for each other, there was a sort of clumsy earnestness to his performance that indicated he had unashamedly committed to it, in a way his scene partner didn't seem willing to. It didn't make it a good performance unfortunately. He's probably a nice guy who just can't act

I haven't watched this show, but it's crazy how accurate you got it
"Is it hot in here, or is it just me" on the tombstone had me laughing out loud.
Hair-itage. Nice
I love how much of this is inaccurate purely because of the fact that google is serving you photos not from the seasons you've searched for (also very upset google didnt show you any images of the scooby doo crossover episode that would have worked very well into your plot)
Supernatural has a decent amount of fun lore. You'd like it. But yeah, it goes on forever and has a lot of Monster of the Week episodes.
no wonder you guys were so good at being in the circus
It’s so funny that “where would you fit a circus big top in Boston?” is such an obvious question considering this dumb city once planned to build an OLYMPIC STADIUM in an old parking lot down the street from me if we’d won the bid to host the 2024 games
What’s crazy is individual details might be wrong, but big picture? She’s absolutely right. I love this video so much.
her experience with TVD prepared her well for this
This was god level improv!
Playing wolves (or perhaps ponies) with you as a child must have been next level
I'm only 20 minutes in and I'm cackling at how close she was to so many things, like calling Crowley the devil and saying they only brought Castiel on for a couple episodes but kept him for the fans. Is she sure she knew nothing about this show? XD
No, the part about Castile she actually knew. She said she knows that fans actually created this ship and that’s why they kept him
Someone PLEASE replace Moffat with Jenny; she's better at long-term story weaving and payoffs while riffing than a dude who's been doing this for decades
Great, now I can never watch Supernatural because it will pale in comparison to Jenny's version.
I want to show this video to my improv class, this is great improv
None of these things happened on supernatural, but all of them could have
I only watched like the first eight seasons of Supernatural (at my stepsister’s peer pressure) and I love this. Supernatural could’ve been better with more aliens, zombies, and low-budget snakes, instead of killing off every single interesting recurring supporting character.
It feels kinda mean to single out Misha as ‘the one who can’t act’ considering the acting in general in the show is, uh. Not great. 😂 hilarious video though, I wish the actual show was this entertaining.
Perfect summary. No notes.
The snake season and the “I can’t make your wish it’s not Christmas” killed me. Honorable mention to “this is Wolverine and this is Claire”
When Jenny said: "He was half man, half evil snakes" I missed the next like 5 minutes of what was going on because I was just crying laughing. Oh my god. "It all makes sense." I would watch that show, story or play. Goodness.
I love how much Google not being accurate with its results is skewing Jenny's predictions
I couldn't breath for most of this. Also love that the only thing she saw she carefully side stepped in her review.
the fact that Jenny did clock onto the fact that Sam is the brother with 'something in his blood' that makes him be a chewtoy between supernatural forces based on nothing but ~vibes made me shriek
This is a masterpiece! I actually watched Supernatural and you were surprisingly close on a lot of the ridiculous plotlines.
firing bullets into a pile of snakes for 44 minutes 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
more in touch with his hairitage
just wanted to let you know this might be my favorite thing you’ve ever made, currently on my fourth rewatch
This was honestly such a hilarious watch, precisely because I also haven't watch Supernatural, and thus have no idea whether anything Jenny said was true or not
this really made me want to watch supernatural for some reason
Just needed to say that I just found this audio bootlegged on YT under the channel "WhatAIsaid!"
They asked first and I gave them permission to use a short clip!
This one definitely deserves to be bolded on the pinned list, it’s a classic!
This may be the funniest Jenny Nicholson video for me, the part where the angel is saying, use your wish! And long haired brother replies I can't it's not Christmas - we should have planned this better! Or the image of the 3 guys just rolling around fighting a heap of plastic snakes
didn’t realize she was making stuff up till like the last 5 minutes
all girls do is eat hot chip and lie <3
i'm living for the fact that jenny's carnival season of supernatural follows basically the exact plot of madagascar 3: europe's most wanted
the best madagascar film tbf
his name is… *not snake.. not snake…* “blake”
i have only seen anything supernatural related from 2010’s tumblr mutuals but i used to watch lost girl and i have a feeling they’re the same
bold of you to state that misha can't act. (like, you're right, but it's bold.)
Miscastiel
My favorite episode is the one where one of the bothers' snake lover Ssssmantha betrays the boys and reports their activity to the aliens.
One of the funniest things about this "review" for me was Jenny's assertion that a "grate pattern scar" was cool.
Lol at the person who showed up in the Google results early on saying that season 1-5 of the show is "flawless" because even when I was a fan I noticed that the early seasons have serious issues with "soft" sexism and racism. Also, while those seasons felt like they had a more cohesive whole than later ones, I wouldn't exactly consider the writing especially "good" television. The series had it's charms, but it never reached greatness.
I love that she correctly identified Rowenas role as a deus ex machnia from a single image of her walking on grass
this is the most accurate description of supernatural I've ever seen. well done XD
if you ignore context and timing, you pretty much cover all of the plot points of Supernatural; it’s like a puzzle with the pieces arranged differently, it’s all still there— and frankly your S5 sounds so good, I wish I was in the AU where your version is canon so I could see it for myself! lol I love how long-haired Sam became ‘embracing his alien heritage’ Sam 😆
I'm a longtime supernatural fan incidentally working on a final project on the show/fandom (I'm a film/media studies major), and this really gave me a good laugh - the blind accuracy of some of this criticism is chilling lol
These three men, rapidly circling a pile of snakes... a veritable dervish!
this is maybe my favourite patreon video to date its hilarious
Has Jenny worked as a fiction writer before? She's so goof at designing stories and weaving them together
if there was any video that i want to see the outtakes of, this one would be it - i imagine that there was a lot of laughs, if not weird pauses, after you said the next outlandish thing. xD
My favorite part was Wolverine becoming PT Barnum at the end.
I’ve never seen any of Supernatural so I imagine she is 100% correct.
I have never seen this show, but if it was actually like what you’re describing I would watch it
You either got it right or made it better in every respect. Never watch the show.
i wish this was real
My favorite part is when jenny starts laughing imagining her made up lady laying down on a burning grate and dying while being stepped on lmao
And the brother tearfully shouting "NOOO" but still walking across her
same energy as me in english class when i didn't read the book. the best parts are when jenny makes something up and then says "yeah that part was my least favorite"
Having only had second hand exposure to Supernatural, I've been nodding along thinking "Yeah, this sounds legit" up untill the bit about Snakes being easy to animate. Because I'm sure I heard they're really difficult in CGI with all their coils, but maybe that's just anthropomorphised snakes? If they're just slithering around vertically they might be easy. I am now very concerned about the factual accuracies of this overview of Supernatural, though I still assume everything else you describe about the show is 100% correct.
This was a masterclass in storytelling - the drama, the twists and turns, the alpha snake reveal?? The long-haired brother's story?? Incredible stuff
i opened patreon to check on my sims mods updates and you're like the one non-sims person i support and without looking at the name i was like "really weird that a sims modder is posting about supernatural but ya know who cares"
Who's your fave Sims modders to support?
I just can't believe how much you guessed correctly or pretty dang close for seasons 1-6 and considering Supernatural was only meant to run for 5 seasons originally, I'd say solid B for accuracy
having never watched the original and never having any desire to watch the original, i would pay any amount of money to watch this version of supernatural
Sorry, I've just started the video but wanted to say that shade of purple looks really lovely on you
The bulbasaur plush!!! <3
the snakes vs cops season is rly underrated imho
This is so unbelievably funny. I don't like supernatural personally and I'm so happy someone else commented on the acting. I thought I was crazy!!!! I could watch hours and hours of Jenny constructing fake plots for shows
Oh my god. This was so horribly inaccurate, Jenny's clearly never seen the real thing... because there's no bloomin' onion at T.G.I. Fridays (It's at Outback Steakhouse)
That's what I said when I was watching it, but my partner says they do have them at TGIF so I'm not sure now
Good lord but Jenny deserves a vacation after that one. "Oh my god there's fifteen seasons...Oh my god." Next month's ramble suggestion; 30 minutes of plushies spinning in a laudromat dryer while Jenny just takes a nap at home.
dropping in to say I saw a big-top circus in Boston. It was _next_ to the harbor.
"bass pro shops core angel" what a character concept
My HS bf loved this show and tried explaining the plots on one of our first dates, I found it charming at the time but lmao. So I watched like most season 1 while we dated but gave up later and forgot about everything that happened besides the iconic mom-ceiling-fire from the pilot
Oh and the WENDIGO ep, which was funny bc I was playing Until Dawn at the time so wendigos were just a hot topic
So many threads from the previous seasons got tied up in the finale...impressive she remembered all of those
One of the main actors turned out to be a “come and take it” conservative, so as a former fan, criticize away
Wait who???
I have watched all of Supernatural. You basically got everything correct.
As someone who has never watched this show & does not intend to, I can't help but feel like you aren't far off from the actual plot.
this is a masterpiece
oh my god
OMG Jenny, you were about 92% correct all told!
Omg a fever dream :D Amazing. Had to pause a couple times because I was laughing so much. I gave up on Supernatural around season 5, basically guessed what happened in future seasons based off random gifs / snippets on Tumblr or YouTube.
Allison Pregler used to do a Supernatural podcast but stopped at the end of season 11 because she just couldn't take it anymore as it had gotten so bad, and her whole thing is so bad its good movies and shows! So you can't be blamed for not knowing there were 15 seasons.
I love how much she hates Castile
I loved this xD You could've been a showrunner!
no spoilers, but there make be snakes
The behind the scenes footage of the Snake Season was amazing, the snake racks they had for the prop snakes where high quality snake racks.
I enjoyed this far more than the 9 seasons I watched of the actual show, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Controversial opinion: the carnival season was the best one.
This would have been an amazing main channel video pre Land Before Time, it's stuff like this that makes me so happy im on patreon
god I wish I could watch the cube season
Judging by this and the Jennifer Lawrence ramble, when you are making stuff up on the fly there is no one funnier anywhere
I've only ever seen snippets of Supernatural on the TV at the gym (no audio, subtitles only) and I believe every word of this.
We also thought season 5 was the best and 8 was the worst weirdly
just question for the fanbase before i upgrade my tier to my a suggestion 👀 any desperate housewives fans in the chat? 🙋🏻♂️ eight season of content idk kinda funny stuff 🍎
Before you upgrade, there is a topic rule against rambles about tv shows (unless I happen to have already seen them), just because they would entail too many hours of watching to prepare for the video. The same rule doesn't apply to movies which are easier to catch up on
I've never watched the show, so I'm just gonna assume this is 100% accurate
When long haired brother had to crawl over the astronaut lying on the searing hot floor in the cube, I laughed so hard I cried
A Cube (1997) reference??
i need you to know that at one point they actually go into our universe where theyre filming supernatural and try to play along but they cant act at all bc theyre monsterhunters and not actors
I take great offense with the Iron Giant being considered a "scary bad guy.'
"I am not a gun."
“Oh my god of course! No wonder you guys were so good at being in the circus!” - Castiel upon discovering Jensen is half snake
The fact Jenny came up with all this on the fly is incredible yet she was not aware of how bonkers SPN is and that she could have gone even stupider. Actual canon events include: Satan possesses the president and knocks up his secretary with his child who later becomes God at 3 years old They fight the goddess Artemis who is a sexy assassin but the power of love compels her to help them kill the most unimaginative version of Zeus Jensen gets an evil tattoo that makes him a serial killer and also a demon for like 5 min and removing it releases God’s sister who wants to destroy the world Long haired brother goes to hell and angel who can’t act gets him out but forgets his soul (oops) so he is evil for half a season until Jensen buys Death a hamburger to get his soul back Angel who can’t act absorbs all the monster souls in purgatory so he can win the angel civil war BUT he turns evil and kills homophobes bc some of those souls were bad CGI super snakes and he dies. But he comes back later after a random woman finds him naked and amnesiac and is like you are my husband now Jensen kills Hitler after he is resurrected from a pocket watch with his soul in it Over the course of the show, Jensen dies (one time by taco) and is resurrected over 100 times before finally dying for good by mime-pire Angel who can’t act gets married to the queen of the djinn for some fruit Jensen’s car goes to heaven There is an alternate universe where angel who can’t act is a Nazi with a terrible German accent A man is impaled to death by a unicorn Bad CGI snakes plot to take over the world with corn syrup that makes you stupid Long haired brother is actually terrified of clowns (which makes Jenny’s carnie plot extra hilarious to me)
I wouldn't believe you if I hadn't unwillingly watched some episodes and seen a few of these
As a Supernatural mega fan who has gone to 7 supernatural-specific conventions, this is video is like a dream come true
the episode where they cross over with scooby doo is the only one I've ever seen and this show jenny is describing sounds so much better :(
I get that it was a callback to her catchphrase, but I did think it was weird for Claire's epitaph to be "Is it hot in here or is it just me?" because it kind of implies that she went to hell.
I assumed it was forshadowing her return as the devil’s henchman but i guess they couldn’t get the actress.
Weird that she left out the 100th episode queerbaiting musical special? It sort of singlehandedly sets up the arc with the devil letting them live after the Rumble Arena plot??
Speaking of shows I've never seen, a 12yo girl I work with watched The Vampire Diaries and asked if I'd seen it. I have only seen your video, so I said "I've seen parts of it." She went on to explain a lot of the plot in detail for like half an hour.
I saw one episode of Avatar, and there was a little boy with me who told me everything that happened in the episode we were watching, while we were watching it.
i think they were calling the snake "leviathans" for a bit to try and make it sound cooler, but gave up on that fast.
Damn. I can't ever watch supernatural now... i'll just be far too disappointed if there's no snake king.
as someome who watched the first 7 seasons fell off but has not rewatched them so I have no memory of 99% of it this feels like it could be right lmfao and if it's not it's going to be all I remember of it from now on lol
“I didn’t expect supernatural to have 15 seasons” Jenny, respectfully, you should have know. You were on tumblr! I thought there were more than 15 seasons tbh.
Any chance you could do this for like...all the shows?
kinda crazy that disney channel stole the alien plot line for zombiez 3
I really enjoyed it, but I have a concern. And it’s about topic nomination. I guess we thought it was too easy for Jenny to review a show she’d seen and liked, we know she can do that. And obviously reviewing a show she saw and didn’t like is even easier to review (Beastly anyone?), so how do we push her? How far do we go? Where does this end? Next Jenny makes an entertaining review of a documentary about crop rotation in the 14th century in her British accent while juggling? And it better be good!
This prompt was an open-ended opportunity for funny creativity. That’s why it worked so well. Your straw man is weirdly specific. That said, check out We’re Not So Different if you want comedic and informative takes on medieval agriculture and a bunch of other middle ages stuff.
The finale of the show Jenny improvises is genuinely more coherent and more satisfying than the actual finale.
I only know anything about the finale because of Drawfee, but it sounds horrible in an absolutely hilarious way.
this was so funny, you did great
I love that she questioned what famous landmarks there are in Boston, went through the effort of googling it only for the best one to be the one she already knew (the harbor)
Having never seen an episode I kept forgetting Jenny was just making it up as she went along. Five stars.
It is my understanding that only song ever plays on Supernatural: Carry On, My Wayward Son
So, “Georgina” is actually the mom from The Suite Life, and she nearly got her own spinoff.
yeah thats pretty much exactly what happened
Amazing. Weirdly close in a number of place. Now I just want to see your reaction to actually learning the plot of Supernatural.
The fact Felicia Day came up as 2 different women in this whole video and never as her actual self on the show was the best part.
I don't think I've ever watched an episode of Supernatural, so this video will probably seep into my subconscious, and if I ever bump into anyone talking about the show I'll probably blurt out something about alien brother or snake brother, and an awkward silence will ensue lol.
As someone who has also never put any significant time into Supernatural (Seeing maybe two episodes) my favorite part is that Felicia Day shows up in a couple of the photos, yet "Felicia Day's" character is never actually Felicia Day.
"he had unashamedly committed to it, in a way his scene partner didn't seem willing to" you really hit the nail on the head with that one
"Christian Science Monitor | Supernatural: Season 2, Disc 1 review" was the highlight for me personally
This video is incredible. Was it improvised on the spot? So epic!!!
This video is amazing, and it inspired me to write a thing: https://archiveofourown.org/works/44252800
Laura this is INCREDIBLE
Didn't think anybody else knew who Felicia Day is.
lol it was awesome, but you forgot the part where you talk about upcoming videos lol, not that it really matters
I love that as weird as Jenny's explanation for "Blake" is, the actual mpreg-adjacent three-men-and-a-magically-aged-to-adulthood-baby explanation is that much weirder (Jack is the most underrated thing, my FAVORITE thing of all of the terrible things in Supernatural, he's got such a weird homeschooled-Mormon-drama-of-the-gifted-child emotional arc and has not one but four different types of terrible father figure he kind of drifts between depending on who's writing each episode)
That was a wild ride! Thanks for the very creative ramble, especially since with the reshoot it ended up being one that seemed to take a fair amount of additional effort on your part!
my favorite season was 9. the cube plot had me on the edge of my seat, meanwhile the angel’s plot was very sweet! the devil’s plot was interesting too, but too csi-y for me
i promise i watched the show (i didn’t)
DAVID’S BRIDAL!!! I’m howling 😂😂😂
I'm from Boston and this is all true
Supernatural season 4, a season of the real show that you and I both watched, sounds lot like the plot of Devil May Cry 5. Capcom should sue.
I didn't notice it, and that's something I would notice, so I don't think they have grounds to sue. DMC 5 is basically about two brothers fighting over stupid shit until the son of one of them forces them to break it up. Except it's cool and fun because demons.
It’s the way I’ve never seen this show so I keep forgetting Jenny is making everything up.
Also I love how Jenny spends an hour and 15 minutes ragging on Misha Collins’ acting when he’s like one of the least bad actors on the show 😂
for real! 😂
It's a little painful how accurate the assessment of CW "genres of women" is. Also I love that Jenny mistakenly identified Julie McNiven as Felicia Day, but it all worked out because Felicia Day did eventually actually show up. :D
Saying “one of the brothers was in a mental institution” narrows it down shockingly little (even tho I unfortunately know enough that I think it was s7 lol)
I wonder if this is going to create a sizeable group of people who go around referring to Supernatural as having "the snake brother and the alien brother" and causing all sorts of confusion.
I looked like a crazy person in public bc I was listening to this while eating dinner and just doubled over laughing at various points
You really encapsulated the show very clearly and succinctly. Bravo. The clown season was my favorite, personally
Here's my favorite near guess -"madam leviathan" when leviathans were a big bad in one of the seasons -neither of the actresses that she said were Felicia Day are Felicia Day, however, Felicia Day plays a recurring character in the show, who actually is a lesbian -the brothers do find out in season 4 that they have a secret half brother and, no kidding, the episode they introduce him is called "Jump the Shark" 😆 (his name is Adam and they kill him in the same episode) Also, in canon the amulet was alluded to being important. However, it was written out of the story since the actor Jensen hated wearing it because it chipped his tooth when it hit him in the face during an action sequence.
The Amulet is real!?
THE Supernatural Video
Lol Dean is the himbo but endearingly spot on
"They're... in the rain alot..." :D
"I have heard that the aura in Wisconsin is unsettled" is the best sentence.
I am sensing…A PRESENCE!
My new favorite descent into madness
Can we get an update on the possible Rainbow Fish video or whatever is getting worked on at the moment? Do you think we'll see any previews this month?
The ease with which "Madame Leviathan" flowed out vs the long pause before "Blake" killed me. I also enjoy the phrase "different genre of woman".
😲🚫📰 No upcoming video news! I always look fwd to the upcoming video news ☹️ Ah well; it was already 75 minutes long - and with more creativity in those 75 minutes than I've managed cumulatively in my entire (Gen. X) lifetime, so I blame the <i>Supernatural</i> creators for producing five more seasons than were perhaps reasonable 😁
I keep going back and forth on whether I should talk about upcoming stuff at teh end of rambles, because I've become more aware that people are now watching videos that are months or years old and I think it makes that weirder. But this month I've been working on the Galactic Starcruiser video, which I hadn't wanted to do right after Evermore but might be anyway
I didn’t realize Supernatural was actually a prequel origin story for the hit musical, The Greatest Showman.
It was what he always wanted.
As someone that watched this entire show twice, this was incredible. My personal fave Supernatural thing was when they became cartoons and worked with Scooby-Doo to solve a mystery
nobody expected it to last 15 seasons, iirc they have 1 goal for the first 5 or 6 seasons and instead of stopping there they just kept going for no reason
They had a reason. $$$ (That said while the rest of it was very uneven I definitely enjoyed at least parts of it.)
Jenny: supernatural but make it x-files
Honestly, I'm surprised the show never did anything with aliens (to my recollection; I think there was one episode where they thought it might be aliens but it was really fairies?)
There make be snakes!!!
This is so good
Even knowing the premise of this video, it took me a while to realize you were making up the plot lmao
Jenny using Jensen ackles’ government name is so funny to me
superb
I’ve never seen Supernatural and don’t plan on ever doing so, but compared to what I do know about the show, your version is preferable.
The Misha slander is so hilarious yet also makes me so sad since Castiel was written like a plank of wood (and Jensen acts like one). I devoted seven years to this terrible show, and all I got was queer-baited, angry, and a trove of bad memories to contrast with Jenny's guesses.
Sweet sweet Kara never had a chance
Jenny coming hard for the Destiel scene's terrible acting straight out of the gate! Love it.
"Kara" is killing me lmao
When he watched season 9, Martin Scorsese was so blown away he gave this statement to the press: "The Clouds lifted when I saw the angel becoming the brothers' taxi driver, then I knew the CW is going to be ok."
Jenny manages to create a better, more well thought out and cohesive show by BSing than the actual showrunners ever could dream to make
Only watched up to season 6; so I accept Jenny's synopsis of 7+ as absolute fact. Especially since I know they do actually get a half brother at some point.
I do know the first names of both the brothers and the actors who play them but I don't know which is which and have only ever referred to them as "floppy" (the long haired brother) and "grumpy" (Jensen, apparently), the names I gave them when I saw one episode of the first season, so I appreciated not having to learn their names in order to follow this perfectly.
you make Season 9: hypercube sound like a kamen rider season i'd watch
The way Jenny reacted to finding out this show had 15 seasons was, frankly, perfect.
deliberately knowing as little about the show as possible, i'll say that this version of the show sounds incredible and i would watch the whole thing. the actual show holds no interest to me lol
This is amazingly accurate. She only misses how each brother dies and comes back to life several times, and how the show tries to keep Heaven and Hell as abstract realms that surpass all mortal comprehension for years but towards the end they just give up and have them looking like regular places on Earth.
8 minutes in and I'm already amazed at how many plot points from later seasons she's guessed and stuck into seasons 1-3
This video gives me so much joy. It's nice to see that even if you know nothing about this show, you still know that Sam gets beat up a lot
Surprise surprise, another Jenny vid that takes a random cheap shot at Dil Pickles 🙄
FINALLY jenny mentions hypercube. been waiting years.
Season 6: There be snakes!
There are some bits that you've gotten surprisingly almost accurate lmao
Times Jenny was 100% correct: -managing to accurately describe both the major female characters added in season two based on a publicity photo of Tricia Helfer -"Castiel was meant to be a half-season character but the 'shippers got hold of him" -"you can tell season six didn't have much of a budget" -"In season 12 we finally find out what the amulet does" (okay she was off by like three episodes there but still) I guess VPD really is a crash course on how CW shows work. Overall Jenny put way more thought into season 11 than the actual writers and built to an epic finale that's truly Snakespearian.
Wasn't the thing about Sam's secret alien powers in the show, too? I haven't seen many episodes, but I could swear that happened in one of them.
I watched the whole show up through like Season 9, but it's been a long time. I think that she got remarkably close on a lot of this, but my memory may be very poor and I'm filling in the empty spaces with her story.
I'm seven minutes in and I can already tell this will overwrite any attempts my friends ever make or have made to explain Supernatural to me. I'm crying.
You should start acting like you know about it, based entirely on this vid
I was absolutely obsessed with supernatural in highschool but as a natural side effect of my brain fully developing stopped watching it after around season 7-8 and it never stops being funny listening to people react to or summarize it
I don't think i've ever laughed this hard at a ramble video
"this isn't cheating!" *said while she cheated*
hating misha collins is so brave
The constant coming back to rag on his bad acting is the best part of this
I pushed myself through Season 1 and the first few episodes of Season 2, mostly because they used to film down the street from where I lived, and I kept waiting to like it, and I just didn't. Too much brother drama.
Wouldn't putting the "is it hot in here" quote on her tombstone kind of imply she went to hell? :( I wish I could see the couture aliens and the snake king! I've never seen the show, but have been on tumblr since 2014 and can't recall seeing a single gif from it that had any kind of cool monster costumes, which seems very weird for a monster hunting show.
i think they meant it to be ironic. She's PROBABLY surrounded by gorgeous angels
I'm from Boston and not a lot of people know that the entire plot of Supernatural was actually inspired by the Great Snake Carnival Disaster of 1998. The writers took some minor creative liberties when they added the aliens to the story, but we used to learn about this in school all the time!
Not me googling “summary of Supernatural seasons” to see if these are at all correct. She started out really strong and on it but then things got weird and silly both here and with the show it seems. Thanks for the laughs!
I feel like this would be funnier if I’d ever seen supernatural/knew the real plot.
Haven't watched the video yet, but Supernatural is about two brothers who hunt supernatural creatures like ghosts, demons, and vampires. It was originally sort of a buffy/western mashup that's gimmick was that it featured a lot of classic rock music (which is gone in the streaming versions because streaming services don't want to pay the licensing fee) and was supposed to be targeted toward a hetero male audience. Instead it got a large female and gay male following and started to develop CW-esque angst plotlines and tons and tons of gay subtext when a third main male character was introduced. The fanbase kind of went nuts and the show lingered longer than it needed to. Sarah Z had a good video about that whole thing.
My wife was obsessed with this show, they used to get so mad when I would do impressions of Jensen Ackles and his stupid voice. I felt bad for the writers when they kept trying to wrap the show up and then it would get brought back for another season. Oh no Sam is in Hell now. Oops we need another season. Okay cool, so we'll send Dean to Hell this time. *sigh* another seaon? Well.... we opened the bible to a random page and now Dean is back but he has the "Mark of Cain" etc.
Surprise Snake through line is sooooo good 😆
I love Jenny dropping “they’ve done a Code Lyoko thing” without any further explanation, confident that her entire audience will understand.
This is perfect because I watched a few seasons of supernatural when it was airing (after Smallville) and haven't watched since.
It's amazing (to me) how Jenny can make something that i'd NEVER watch, sound like something that i'd WANT to watch.
I'm only on season 2 of Jenny's SPN and as someone who watched too much of the actual show yet can't even remember which brother is which, I'm getting some reverse Apollo-giftofprophecy-dodgeball.jpeg vibes.
This was like fingernails on a chalkboard but in a good way???? I couldn’t stop laughing every time she called Sam the himbo brother lmao. I’ve seen every episode of supernatural and watching people rag on it is always fun but this had me biting my tongue so hard as I kept wanting to jump into the screen to tell Jenny that in some cases, the events on the show were even more bonkers and inexplicable than what she was describing…. Great video!!
Like, okay, favorite thing is that she misidentified two completely different red haired actresses as Felicia Day, but then didn’t seem to notice that Felicia Day is actually a character on the show at one point, just not playing Anna or Rowena (the two people she called “Felicia Day”). Also, they DO have a secret half brother who turns up and then is written out for a long time before popping back up, but he’s not the character that was identified as such. xD
giggling watching this at my desk at work (on my other monitor i’m playing picross) (don’t tell my boss)
honestly this should be on the main channel, can we vote on that or something
Agreed, this deserves to be seen by the world
Just seeing the title makes me think this is worthy of main channel status
My personal favorite part of Supernatural is when Dean Winchester killed Death and released God’s sister. I also really liked the part where they Went to Oz and fought the Wicked Witch of the West (I am genuinely not joking about either of these plot points, they DID happen 😭)
Wtf how is that real
I need a Supernatural Youtuber to respond to this summary in detail. Patreon Exclusive Crossover.
Get Sarah Z to do it!
The Wisconsin aura arc was peak Supernatural.
I watched the first episode of Supernatural and that was enough, so this is perfect for me
funniest thing is that the Dora the Explorer plot would completely fit into the show
honestly im a claire defender. if you read into the subtext, her fangirling clearly came from a place of deep insecurity, and to have her potential arc cut off by that bigrig... a truly shocking and grim moment in supernatural history
Jenny neglected to mention that in season six of supernatural, the “king snake” phenomenon is because clumping into a ball is how snakes mate so they were trying to make a antichrist snake
Two things I know about Supernatural: first: it is ALWAYS ON. Early 2019, I was hospitalized for a week and no matter what time I turned on the TV: 10 in the morning, 5 in the evening, 3 AM… Supernatural was always on some channel. Second, they actually did an episode where they went into Scooby Doo, so I was wondering if Jenny was thinking about that when she talked about them crossing into other shows, or if we would get to see her discover that for herself. Sadly… no to be.
I’m laughing out loud I love this
That was amazing! Well worth the wait :D My hot take is that the snake season was the best and my only hope is for the spinoff to have a snake season as well but with alien snakes of course 🐍
This is great! If I even get hold of a timemachine, I'm going to use it to travel back in time, make a lot of money and use that money to take over Supernatural from the start and force the writers to use this as the actual script.
I don't know if you'd absorbed any real knowledge but the analysis of how the show treated female characters around 15 minutes in is shockingly on point for a blind guess.
Is it really that shocking tho 😝
I love that your Felicia day section was literally just Dawn from Buffy
I can't wait to watch this later. I'm dying to know which one you think can't act. It could be any of them!
Having only ever seen the first episode of supernatural and that was maybe a decade ago... This seems legit and now I never need to see the show as I know all about it
The angel's like "Use your wish to save your brother!" and he's like "I can't, it's not Christmastime!" I lost it.
but then, When Christmas Comes to Boston!!!
Jenny, could I, with your blessing, animate a portion of this ramble video?
Sure!
I was in the Cara fandom tbh. There’s this side character in an episode named Mel, and so we all shipped CaraMel together
Well, I’m sure it was better than the CW’s OTHER Karamel…
I love the inclusion of a Hallmark christmas movie plot line. Also, "My final wish is for you to stay together like I couldn't stay together with any of your mothers."
My favourite bit is referring to them as Long-Haired Brother and Jensen
I love how around season 4 Jenny becomes significantly more confident and the show pitch gets so much weirder.
The only Supernatural I've ever seen was clips in Sarah Z's video about it, so for all I know this ramble is 100% accurate.
"He is half evil snakes"
“Bass Pro Shop Core” I AM DECEASED
My whole family watched every episode as it came out for many seasons. We thought Dean coming back from hell was a bit over the top but we pressed on. Eventually we just lost the plot completely and stopped. Good memories I think we all preferred Dean over Sam.
I'm smack-dab in the middle of a really rough two-week schedule at work, so when I say that just seeing the TITLE of this video filled my heart with joy for the first time all week, please know that is no small thing. :D
I love "short haired brother" and "long haired brother"
I love how toward the end she switches "short-haired brother" for "Jensen"
When i saw the preview i said out loud 'please be riverdale' but this is so much better, this is going to tear me to shreds
I've never seen this show either, but a YouTuber I know does, and she recapped the terrible series finale, and I ended up making a six minute animation based on her whole tirade, and as someone who is not a fan of the show, what she described was absolutely wild.
The YouTube creator crossover I didn't realize I needed. Your animations are so fun
I haven’t seen Supernatural so I’m just going to assume everything you say is correct.
A surprising amount of her guesses were scary close.
also can't believe you said "felicia day" before felicia day actually enters the show sjdkflsjdlfks
Oh my god. You weren't kidding when you said you had a good idea.
"probably thirteen seasons" oh jenny. oh no. i'm so sorry. also yes bela is played by maggie from the walking dead. good catch. (she was also in VPD!)
i haven't opened the video but it's supernatural right 😭😭😭
This show was my teen years😭but its not... good. Excited for this
JENNY thank you for this and all the effort you put into it!!!!
wait stop i am so excited for this
