"I'm going to place the three of you goons in a predicament bondage situation, and I can't even make the Patrick William Charlton joke because this is a different series."
Surely the China of the 1960s would be... China, no?
Opening the envelope to read my will: "If you're reading this it means the chimp has finally bested me..."
That post about a goon misunderstanding "make it look like an accident" just yelling "whoops!" every time they shoot their gun
On the subject of James Bond apparently borrowing from it's earlier competitors, I recently watched the second Matt Helm movie The Ambushers. It's a spy comedy which essentially created the character of Jaws 11 years earlier in the form of a metal-headed Dave Bautista-looking mf who is defeated by exploiting disability. Drinking while driving is also played for comedy.
When y'all were describing the dissonance in the ranch scenes, it made me think of "La última cena" - Cuban movie from the 70s that still kind of knocks around in my head. I remember it doing some interesting stuff with the relationship between a "moral"/pious landowner and the people he subjugates.
MI:2 does it with Tom Cruise's character rock climbing, but notably this is an homage to the opening of Star Trek 5. In which Spock interrupts Captain Kirk's rock climbing vacation to tell him that they need to go do Star Trek 5.
I feel like the medal has to be either the Joe Turner CIA Award for Excellence in Fashion or just, whatever Frank Serpico’s truly iconic deal is.
Either it sticks with the Person's Name vibes and is the Joshua Whatshisname Memorial Cunty Ribbon, or it's the Blue Romper Award
Also, love the opening vibe of "This was good" and then by the end it was a hard shift to "This has been a horrible experience."
The gasp I let out when Devon dropped the name of next week's movie in the outro. I'm so excited for this.
1:11:09 Love and friendship and jungle work.
I cannot BELIEVE we didn’t get an “oh my god 117 you can’t just ask someone why they’re white” joke
skiiers only stopped dressing like this due to cowardice. one day i will inherit my parents ski gear and bring this back. with helmets still of course.
My parents had 1970s skis in the attic and did not take them when they moved. My heart was shattered. I look amazing in 1960s orange, I could've been absolutely serving until I inevitably smashed into a tree.
The movie End of Watch but instead of cops it's a doctor and his anesthesiologist
"Why are you all white and blonde? Isn't that more of an Argentina thing?"
“Ah, mein güt freund, let me introduce you to zees boyz”
oh YEAAAAAAH
