FREE PALESTINE
- With the ceasefire in full effect, the media has returned to ignoring the daily atrocities in Gaza. My friend Ahmed still needs to feed his family and afford medicine. Anything you can kick in would be hugely appreciated.

Not like it matters in context, but in case November wants to know, heat-seeking missiles basically since the mid-90s have used IR imaging systems, which see the shape of the target rather than just the heat, and therefore ignore things like flares, the sun, themselves, etc
Pausing the episode to look up "quincunx" and whether I'm allowed to say it
"Slick" has gotta be a slur, right? I only ever hear it in movies when a white cop is addressing a black character
As someone who has read all of Thrones- if you decide to read it, know that it is grossly misogynist in all the ways you'd expect fantasy to be. If you want dragons and political intrigue in fantasy, go read The Dagger and the Coin, which is written by one of the guys who wrote The Expanse.
Don: It's not about the engine, it's about esprit de cars
This might be the most fun abs entertaining Fast episode yet
the reason Mr. Nobody isn't a bad guy is because in America, there's a kind of chud horseshoe theory thing that happens when you have a protagonist who's an epic tactical operator, where suddenly the greatest honor they can have bestown upon them is working for Da Government because they're too based and epic for Da Government to ignore
Thanks for mentioning the trans women in prison issue. My girlfriend and two of my friends got caught up in the Prairieland Texas case and it has been horrible for them. Love and Solidarity!
The term "batty boy" triggered an immigrant memory where I was at a chippy and tried to order a "chip butty" but I said "chip batty" and both my wife and the chippy guy very nearly had strokes. Cuz I thought it was "batty" cuz the filling is battered and fried, not butty cuz butter
On the comment about "imagine going in at Fast 8" ... are you familiar with a podcast called "The Worst Idea of All Time"? Their whole schtick is watching bad movies over, and over, and over. They did Fast and Furious in reverse order, starting with watching Fast 8 eight times, then working down from there.
Devon's white girl doing the haka comments brought me back to my childhood and the school Kapa Haka team consistent entirely of Pakeha.
"was this child immaculately conceived?" Pedantry engaged over the one Theological Trivium I know No. because Elena, like every other human besides Mary, was born with the stain of original sin. Now was he the product of a Virgin Birth? That's a different question
Abbys German so perfect I thought it was Arabic at first
In tears at the queen impressions
As an Australian, the Ben Roberts-Smith bit gave me a minor mental flashbang, I had no idea it was that international
I think fondly and often of the malicious chinese meme that brought australia to its knees
I've got to say, Abi (WHO PLAYS ADMIRAL FUCKING SHARAKO!!!!) having not watched Game of Thrones might be a peak KJB Moment.
this was the first fast and furious movie i’d ever seen - ironically enough at a drive in (with a double feature of split)
Fate/Furious
the fucking former cultural minister of sweden is a white lady with dreads
Omg can we get a Smokey and the Bandit episode?
It's the ultimate masculine fantasy movie and it's the favorite movie if a lot of hyper masculine men. You can have Trans girlisomo on.
I always thought the US Army slogan was "Join the Army, Be All You Can Be, Sleep With Blanche Devereaux."
Abi's line about the flare completely took me by surprise, I was crying with laughter at that one.
Hearing you talk about the hacker scene makes me question why you haven't ever covered Hackers, which I think falls under the heist movie umbrella
Did they do Operation Swordfish? 🤔 It's also heisting
Pumping my fist when I hear Devon singing a bit of "Convoy" Convoy Convoy I have been hoping they cover Convoy since before trucking season. Cuz it's a straight up Marxist ass anarchist ass American blue collar working class movie.
Everyone of these episodes starts with Abby saying she quite liked it and Devon and November audibly raising their eyebrows.
We’re deep in the Currently Working years
The reason that Mr. Nobody survived being shot in Fast 7 is that he became part of The Fambly and was therefore taken under the protection of The Amulet, which is why he was at the barbeque at the end.
A film title so perfect, it has supplanted 2Fast 2Furious in my mind as the naming template for all of these damn movies. The Fnine of the Furious, the Ften of the Furious. I can't wait for the Feleven of the Furious, not least of all because it is possible pronounce that one.
Getting venom'd out on estrogen and just turning into one of the Cock Destroyers
I had caught up on the whole series shortly before watching this one, and I had been pretty dismissive about Paul Walker's contribution to the franchise before, but after this I really felt like he really held things together. I had kinda hoped that with Brian and Han gone, they'd move Roman away from being cartoonish comic relief more towards his origin as being one of the main driving guys, but they didn't. Instead they kinda solved it by having Letty pick up some of the slack and mostly solved it by making the who thing even less about driving. I had also completely forgotten that Little Nobody existed, so when he shows up in the future I was surprised how easily he was accepted in. The really weird thing about this movie to me is that in the wake of losing the #2 guy in the series, I was expecting them to spend time getting people used to the new status quo, but instead they also pull away the #1 guy in the series and have The Rock take the lead, and he still feels like an interloper in this series to me. And now that Dom has a kid you can look forward for every argument for Brian not showing up to also apply to Dom, making his absence all the more tortured. There was also a big Justice For Han fan campaign complaining about how easily Deckard Shaw was rehabilitated into the fambily that is probably responsible for Justin Lin coming back in 9, although with Han definitely dead and never coming back I guess it didn't really amount to much.
They're not even heist movies anymore. You could be doing Mission Impossible instead and be way more on theme. It's like watching someone review every McDonald's item individually. A waste of space franchise that cluttered the Heist picks after the fifth instalment.. .... this is the kinda whining you get after being told the series ends after the next chapter, to refrence recent Manga drama. You start looking at the little things you didn't like and start going "this didn't need to be here."
Parcor blimey is such an inspired pun lmaoo
It's gold, couldn't believe the other two didn't react
Please do Death Race 2008 after the Fast and Furious or after Hobs and Shaw as a bonus. I'm begging you.
the way i’d frame this movies racism is that it’s deeply assimilationist in a very 2010s liberalism sort of way
We're at that stage in a long series where the bits begin to ferment and grow stranger. Hugely enjoyed! Frank Transporter receiving a beatific Redemption from reading Dostoevsky in prison is the shit only this podcast can brew up.
The plot of this movie makes me feel like I'm suffering from adult onset shaken baby syndrome.
I'm looking forward to Big Trouble in Little China so much
Did they watch the extended edition or the regular cut, I need to know if I wasted 18 more Cuban minutes than needed.
Living my life 250 meters at the time
Yes, Absolute Black Canary looks so fucking good.
I'm stoked for Big Trouble in Little China.
I regret to inform as a former Mirren fan that she is in fact a turbo zionist
Car: the happening is what I call my mage chronicle based around a bunch of street racing children of ether
"IT'S OVER 9,000 (Cuban miles)!!!"
Let me tell you how much i've come to F8 you since i began to live
When you mentioned going to get Cuban sandwichs I thought we were going to get the Fat Burger line there, I didn't see the German one coming. Also, for the feeling of watching a movie series in the middle with no context see The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.
The Rock's goatee can't be measured in commie metric units since he's American. It would be in Freedom Units ©®™, AKA Imperial measurements. I'd say it's about 1/32 of an inch.
Best of the franchise purely because they somehow got Helen Mirrem to play Peggy Mitchell for it.
Car: the happening; also known as Stephen Kings Maximum overdrive.
I would actually like to watch a 2 hour documentary on conversion therapy, but I feel like if I look that up on YouTube I'm going to get blasted with Hitler Particles by the algorithm. Anyone got any recommendations?
yeah, subscribe to Nebula https://nebula.tv/videos/philosophytube-how-to-ban-conversion-therapy
A 3 Cuban hour episode? You spoil us!
Replacing Fat Burger with Hans im Glück is how you know Abi did her research
26:45 Ah you're describing the Baki prison
Aw man, I was really hoping they would do Dungeons and Dragons honor among thieves for heist season
Maybe Helen Mirren got Vin Diesel's number off of Judy Dench
"What do they talk about?" Dungeons & Dragons, I assume
Oh yeag, this is the one I watched when I had to kill time. There was a bit where they were discussing their plan and when one of them did a bad joke, the music dropped from the soundtrack like in bad trailers
I am listening to this on a high-speed train in China. I am going faster than the fastest car while eating sweets.
Let's fucking goooooo 😎
