PsyAmb 156 - Dub Spirits [ Mix Download ]

Greetings !

It's been a long, sweltering summer full of chaotic energy here in the house of PsyAmb. Now that order has been restored, i.e the kids are back in school, it's time for a long overdue entry in the PsyAmb mix series.

This mix includes a number of new tunes I've picked up recently, a couple from earlier this year and a few classics to keep things moving along smoothly.

I can highly recommend all the albums involved in this one. Of particular note on the new album tip is the latest release from Dutch producer Diethyl. Melvin van Duin has been producing electronic music since 2009, initially focusing on deep 140 bass music before discovering psytrance in 2015. His passion for the psychedelic scene eventually led him toward its more chilled, ambient and dub-influenced side, inspiring his Diethyl project. While his main alias, Echoflux, focuses on full-on psytrance, Diethyl explores deeper and more atmospheric psychedelic sounds.

His new album, Children of the Sun, is available on Bandcamp and features a sound not too dissimilar to the likes of Ott, Globular and Entheogenic which you can't go wrong with, right!?

Another release to check out is the new album from French artist Squazoid, titled Evolution, which continues his tradition of a rich fusion of psydub, world music, trance and chillout, featuring live flutes, winds, acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica and bass. Great stuff to wrap your ears around.

One more I'd like to highlight is Welsh producer Aron Brydie, aka EchoSphere, who has been developing his distinctive blend of psychedelic dub, downtempo and ambient music for many years. Check out his latest gem, Through The Looking Glass, also available on Bandcamp.

As always, I'd like to thank you for your generous support of the PsyAmb project here on Patreon. It means the world to me and really helps to keep the project rolling along with the best mixes I can create.

A million thanks.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have approximately six hours before the children return and civilisation once again collapses. Just kidding .... I think ...

Cheers,

PsyAmb
