How Nipples Work

It has come to my attention that a great many people out there do not know how the breast and nipple eject milk. There is no central canal or outlet. Each milk gland ends in it's own individual duct. You can think of this less like a hose and more like a garden nozzle set to "shower".

If you have a question or a video idea, please leave it as a comment.

As always thank you for being part of the Secret Classroom and for learning with me.

I had a best friend who had implants. I was working on her scar tissue as her therapist because she was very encapsulated. She had what was like two baseballs on her chest. Anyway as I work the scar tissue there was a dark discharge coming from the nipple. It turns out the discharge was spoiled milk coming from the gland. She hadn't been pregnant in decades. I think the encapsulation being so tight it cut off circulation or the flow from the gland to the nipple. Initially I thought she had a moldy implant. Then I found out only the gland can secrete from the duct. We determined she did not have moldy implants by using the flashlight to the back of the hand theory. Will let them up and they were glowing bright red. You saw all the veins and arteries but there was no dark hazy concern to be found with the flashlights. That was three decades ago. I wonder how she's doing now. I think she suffers from that evil cat parasite they talk about toxoplasmosis. She's estranged from all of her family and friends now.

I want to learn about the sexual side of “how nipples work”!

Can we talk about what happens to the breasts during perimenopause, especially about what comes out of them and the different colors of what comes out?

Yikes! This doesn’t sound normal. Have you asked the dr about this??

I remember after having my son I showed my boyfriend how the milk comes out and I freaked him out

I would also like a video on inverted nipples. Also, what does it mean when the nipple itself looks like it is split in half?

I’ve had a single spot on my nipple that will fill with this white coagulated fluid(?) and when I squeeze it, it comes out and goes away. However, I wait some time and forget about it and it’s back again. Rinse and repeat. I’ve never had a kid or been pregnant and I’m wondering if this fluid is just milk like I’ve always thought?

Trying not to be TMI but I had mine pierced, and when I took them out months before to breast-feed my first son, I was surprised when I saw milk coming out of the piercing holes, so I had the normal coming out of the front and then coming out of the sides. It was very entertaining. 😂

Thanks for that! Was wondering what would happen should I ever go through that process... 😂

I would love to hear about inverted/shy nipples. Why are they like that and what can be done (if anything) to make them work more normally? How rare/common are they?

I had them. When I was pregnant with my first, I wore breast shells in my bra. They were a hard plastic that put pressure inwards and they had a cut out for my nipples. Then, the first few weeks, I used nipple shields while nursing. After nursing my children, they are no longer inverted. Hope this helps.
