( i have tried not to be trite and to write what i would have appreciated in a similar time. Its still probably trite and parasocial but i tried) Take all the time you need to grieve, you are more important than your work (even if it is one of the greatest works of fiction the world has ever seen). That you have still been working so hard during such a trying time is incredible! Im pretty sure in innworld you would have counterleveled. I wish i could offer you comfort and support, but i am just some rando on the Internet who loves your work. You pour so much of yourself into your book that it does feel like we know you as a person not just an author, more so than anything else i have ever read (even the great sir terry pratchett). You write grief so incredibly well, like an old friend, or constant companion. I will not insult you by saying i know how you feel, or that it will get better. I will carry a small splinter of grief for you, and i think many of your readers will do the same. We can never know him or you, but we are connected, however small, through the love of the world you have created. And thats enough to know the world is poorer now than it was before. I will be forever grateful to a man i do not know for everything he has done to make you, you.

Don't hurt yourself kiddo. Worst case we read it in a few weeks when you're back.

You've been going more than full speed during a tough time. I lost my grandparents a couple years ago, and I know it hits everyone differently. Relationships are nuanced, and loss leaves a space that should be reflected on. I hope you take time to rejoice in your achievements and some time for grief and memories with family and friends as well. Thank you so much for sharing your life and your beautiful work with us!!

Loosing family is tough. There are no words to soften it. In time it won’t feel so acute. That grief will always be there if you go looking for it. It seems grief is just the bill coming due for all the love we got.

So sorry for your loss. Your mental health comes first.

Sorry to hear about your Grandfather I have Grandparents who are 89 and 86 and deteriorating and I keep visiting them whenever I can!
