Just wondering when to expect the next chapter?

You still got it. An ending with pathos. Tension so palpable you could cut it with a knife. And demonstrating how far a “side” character has come - a much bigger fan of Ylawes now, after ten years! Even though your new website still crashes Chrome on my phone more often than not

Wow I really liked this chapter and its new characters. Russell had such a strong introduction and I really like his character, so I hope he becomes another main character of the series.

You mentioned it in the author’s note about people getting annoyed when you feature new characters because the series already is so saturated with (great!) characters. With that in mind, this was a particularly good/interesting way to introduce new characters. It feels a lot better when they almost immediately collide with established characters in a setting people are invested in. It makes it less like “there are so many PoV chapters I want to read and we got [new character] to the detriment of [beloved Innverse favorite],” instead giving us a fresh perspective on the Silver Swords and adding to the general New Lands plot tapestry. This blended approach is nice for readers that are sad we caught up!

Infinitypear’s lantern will it be blessed to hold Erin's 🔥 and dose he follow the Pawn's religion? I can also see Martha lighting for him too.

Where are the exiled civilians from the failed expedition while the Silver Swords are in the Waystation? In this chapter, Esor mentions that Ylawes’ group being bigger than his is part of the reason that the Cenidau warriors will go a different way after the Waystation…. So the civilians must still be with the Swords. But they aren’t mentioned when it comes to the logistics of the Waystation. Do they have to camp outside the Waystation? I know they aren’t important to the story… but now that I remember them it feels odd that they aren’t mentioned as an aside. Assuming they are camped outside the walls… Woll said even ppl outside the walls can use the well… so that would mean that a number of them are probably sick as well?

Hi Aba, love your work… I have a small pet peve, sorry. I’m an electrician in my 20’s and I understand blue collar work might not be the most exciting to write about, but if anyone can make it exciting it’s you.. I feel like there’s soo many college students or people with very rare jobs already, they’re are completely lost when they arrive, until they find a purpose and even if they only vaguely understand concepts from earth they’re given classes. No ones ever a professional carpenter, plumber, electrician and so on, Geneve is the closest. I understand electricity isn’t working, but is no one gonna look closer and find out what changed? Do electrons behave differently, and how is magic converted into thermal forces? I feel like if we’re talking about inventions from earth, these are things that constantly pings my mind…just what the heck is magic.. and so on. Do a water mage casting Water Lance actually understand water pressure, or are they going on feel and will, and the system provides all? Sorry for this lengthy message, usually I don’t think of these things, only when it’s new earthers arriving, because I put myself in there shoes. just a tiny pet peeve, love the series.

Imagine Russell becoming one of the horns!!

I like Russell. He really has the feel of a guy who's been carrying the world on his shoulders for a long time. Always having to be the responsible one, always having to make sure the people around him are taken care of and safe. Everyone else is acting like this isn't life or death because they have him dealing with ALL of those problems for them. So his scene at the end feels like "It's okay soldier, you can put down that ruck, we've got you"

What a tense ending, i wish we would get more similar dangesense scenes. Something that really puts our heroes on the edge.

I'm only a little bit in the chapter but my god, I hope these kids get eaten by a landshark.

I’m late comer to series and this is the first chapter I’ve read right after release. At first I was disappointed that it was a new character, but im so glad that Russell met Nailren and decided to trust the Silver Swords. It was a very satisfactory mini-character arc. I hope Russell becomes as amazing as I think he will be. And that Arnie doesn’t turn evil… he seems like he has potential to get all twisted up and cause a lot of harm, like The Prophet (Harvey). Can’t wait to see where this arc goes, looking forward to watching Russell meet more of my favorite people!! Mrsha and Russell - that will be a fun scene!

Great chapter, I truly loved the ending. One thing that stood out to me, as a Virginian, is that we don’t have brown bears here (especially Grizzlies). We have an abundance of black bears. Some even exist in and around the great dismal swamp on our southern border with North Carolina.

I really liked this chapter. The ending was fantastic, the pacing felt great. Looking forward to what becomes of the [gunslinger] and when a certain streamer meets a gossip.

I hope the silver swords escorts them back, but I guess the still need to find that grave.

That was a good chapter, and I just loved the ending. I sometimes wonder with all of the drama going on if it gets forgotten the fact that this is a fantasy world made of stories of wonder and adventure. It's good to see characters that remind us of that. Looking forward to reading more of the [Gunslinger]
