Mythic Magazine #64
Greetings Mythicists! I hope your March went well, and that your adventures never feature clowns, because clowns are just too darn scary.

Here's the rundown:

This is officially my first issue (not counting the translation of several articles for the GME 2 Spanish crowdfunding) and I loved it. TAC was the first Word Mill product I read and it's cool to see it featured! I wasn't sure that themes as oracle would work, but you did it. So cool having a yes/no plus a theme, great ideas here.
Thank you Antonio, I'm glad you liked it :) That AC article was something I've wanted to write for a long time, so I'm glad it happened. I feel like TAC doesn't get as much love as it deserves in the magazine, so this issue helped balance that out a little.
Guess I gotta go buy the adventure crafter. I think I might like this better than regular action/meaning.
Thanks, I could really use the article about juggling with games, I have way too many games started, and I just refuse to let any of them go.
You know this weird thing happened for me the other day. I was playing Captain’s Log, did an Oracle Pull, and the moment kind of hit me: I could end the episode here. It felt weird, you know? Cheap. Uncomfortable. A day or two later, after I’d moved on, it didn’t feel nearly as cheap. It felt right! I was onto a new episode and the show (like Star Trek does) had moved on. I didn’t overstay my welcome.
The article about adventure juggling really encapsulated one of the things I love most about Mythic--the lessons learned reading these books can be applied to any solo gaming. I've been doing the "it's all one universe" thing for a couple years now, and I was really happy to see that validated. And I love the idea of seeing new games like pilot episdoes that might get picked up or not--significantly lessens the mental block. Fantastic article!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it :)
I love playing multiple adventures! Can't wait to read your take on it
Thanks for the shout-out!! ❤️
You're welcome, and I'm glad your alter-ego in the Big Example didn't meet a horrible end! lol
Very happy to see the article on TAC and its potential uses. TAC is probably my favourite of the non-GME resources you've put out there and I'll always be interested in seeing different ways of using it during an adventure. I tend to use it all the time. I will sometimes roll up theme/plot points but just not interpret them into a concrete narrative, leaving them as a collection of contextual hints that then get fleshed out by further playing and/or random events.
That's a great idea, I like that :) I was happy to do a TAC related article in the magazine, it doesn't get covered very often.
Thank you so much for all the work to support us, Tana!
Thanks Stark :) Thank you for being a Mythicist!
