Big Example, Meet Art
So, I made this post a few days ago: https://www.patreon.com/posts/who-to-artisize-126081689 looking for suggestions of past examples that should have artwork made for them. I'm ridiculously excited by this idea! Already the suggestions in that thread have expanded the concept, which I am thrilled by. I plan to take one idea per month and give it to Jorge to include with the artwork he provides me for the magazine.
I'm going to refer to that thread going forward, so please feel free to drop more ideas in there if you like :)
The POD for MM Comp #7 is finally almost ready to go, as is the new MM Comp #8 PDF. Whew! These both took a couple of months longer than I expected to finish. But, the print proofs of #7 have arrived and are sitting on my desk awaiting a quality check. I don't know if it's tariffs or what, but these took quite a long time to arrive from the printer. And Comp #8 is almost all stitched together, I just have another pass or two through it to make sure everything is where it should be.
It's very likely that both the #7 PODs and the #8 PDF will burst into the wild around the same time. I don't usually like to release stuff simultaneously, but these have both waited long enough. Time to set them free!
It's All About Adventure Now
The writing process for Mythic RPG 2e is into the Adventures chapter now. This is the main "how to play Mythic adventures" section with lots of rules for making the magic happen. Most of the material in this chapter will be familiar to current Mythic GME players, although the RPG has its own spin on some things. There are tweaks throughout to maximize the GME being coupled to the RPG. I hope it's a peanut butter and chocolate kind of pairing. Wine and chocolate? Beer and pizza. You know what I mean :)
Micro Mythic Rolls For Success
I'm working on the Success Check chapter of Micro Mythic. There are lots of parallels between this and Mythic RPG 2e, and stuff that's appearing in the magazine. It feels like everything is coming together into some kind of perfect Mythic storm :)
Deconstructed Download
I've added a download of a fillable PDF of the Deconstructed Adventure Sheet from issue #50 to the Resources page. A Mythicist requested the form, which I appreciate :) Feedback often drives which forms get up there for download and how fast. I'd like to put more forms online, as I know there are tons that aren't there. However, the Deconstructed Adventures article seemed to really resonate with players, so I'm not surprised I got requests. I had to go dig the box out of the boardgame shelves, but it seems to be from around 1994. It looks like this: https://www.wordmillgames.com/roborally.jpg We also have an expansion for it. Sometimes when my spouse and I play, we'll have a randomized third robot in the mix. We just draw random cards and let the thing wander about. It throws a bit of extra chaos into the mix :)

That should come out by the end of the year as well, probably a few months before MRPG 2e. I can't wait for it either :) It's really grown into something much more than what I had originally thought.

Is the Mythic RPG2e going to keep something akin to the blank resolution tables of 1e? I find that to be one of my favorite parts of the system. 😁

Yes! I plan to have a section with filled in Question Resolution boxes for lots of common Fate Questions that may be asked. That's as much to serve as suggestions as it is to show how Fate Questions can function in an adventure. It'll also include a sheet of blank boxes, with suggestions for how to make your own that fit your unique setting.

Congratulations on the progress on Mythic RPG 2e. :) It is the book that is going to make me lie :P (I promised to myself: "never more than the three RPG systems I selected!", to keep my collecting in check). Is this chapter including stuff from the Adventure Crafter as well, or it keeps closer to the GME? And thanks for Compilation #7, I've been waiting for it for months! So… when Compilation #8 POD? 🙃 (just kidding ^^)

Thank you :) The Adventures chapter has large chunks of GME in it, since it follows basically the same Scene structure approach. It adds in some Adventure Crafter to serve as an adventure seed creator. Where the GME offers a wide range of options, the RPG narrows it down more focusing on what works best with the RPG rules. There are a couple of tweaks to the basic approach that are tied into the Setting you create before you make your PC (in MRPG2e you don't just generate a PC, but a world for them to play in). And there are a couple of other tweaks that tie into the RPG nature of the game, for instance incorporating Fortune Point rewards at the end of some Scenes and Sessions and Advancement Checks to see if your PC increases their abilities. hahaha Comp #8 POD ... soon? Soon! Definitely soon. Or at least, my definition of the word "soon" :)

Newbie question: When is the RPG 2e planned to be released? I don’t need anything precise, just an order of magnitude: a month or two, several months, more? I ask because I picked up Mythic about a month ago and I love it. The preview of RPG 2e in the podcast really intrigued me and made me want to look for a leaner, more story focused RPG for when I don’t want to bother with the full crunch of DnD or PF2e I use at the moment. If the 2e edition is still far away, is the first edition still a good option in the meantime? Thank you so much for the awesome content!

Thank you for this message, Mykiel :) I plan to have the book out by the end of the year. So, it's still a good ways off. I would say the first edition is still a good option, especially if you combine it with Mythic GME 2e. You might have to tweak and adjust a few things to bring the two systems together, but the game is meant to be constructed as you go to some degree so that shouldn't be a barrier. There's also "Mythic GME As A Rules Light RPG" that appeared in Mythic Magazine #31 that is essentially an early draft of Mythic RPG 2e, testing out concepts in the book. If you want to know more about the first edition Mythic RPG, Mythicist Robin is doing a series of blog posts about it that are really good. He's also going through MM articles to test what combines well with the original system. Clicking on the link to the Deconstructed Adventure Sheet doesn't work because the period at the end is a part of the link. If I copy it and remove the period it works just fine. Just letting you know it's a little awkward at the moment.
