Field Research: I Need Your Help (Quick Poll)

I’ve been receiving some incredible mod suggestions, and at the same time, I’ve been playing The Sims 3 more than ever.

With the Wishes system and Immersive Opportunities, I started exploring areas of the game that, as a player, I almost never touched. Parties, for example. (Today I threw my very first costume party ever. Yes, that actually happened.)

While reflecting on a recent suggestion to improve the party system, I realized something bigger: there are countless ways to make Sims’ behavior more directed, contextual, and truly immersive.

The party I hosted today was… a small disaster.
The Sims barely took initiative. They felt far too passive. And that got me thinking: I can change this.

So here’s the question:

What if I unified all my autonomy mods into a single mod that reshapes the overall gameplay experience?

The individual mods would still remain available. But alongside them, I would develop a unified version that gives me systemic control over the final outcome of the experience.

A clear example of this was the social classes mod. For it to work the way I envisioned, I had to revisit several previous mods, adjust retrocompatibility, rebalance interactions, and even create new scoring systems. That allowed me to establish a structure where certain behaviors genuinely influence a Sim’s rise or fall in social class.

Now imagine applying that same integrated logic to party behavior.

With all systems communicating with each other, I could literally rebuild what we expect from Sims’ behavior:
– More initiative.
– Reactions that align better with traits and context.
– More organic social dynamics.
– Less passivity, more personality.

Instead of isolated tweaks, this would be a structural redesign of the experience.

(Fun fact: Our autonomy mods already include a total of over one thousand tuned ITUN and XML files to enhance the overall gameplay experience! 😮)

So I want to know:

What do you think about adopting this approach moving forward?

A unified experience sounds more coherent and easier to manage, especially for players who want a bit of all your autonomy mods working together seamlessly!

Absolutely! Having everything located in a single hub also makes file management easier and the integration of new features smoother. Not to mention that I could release monthly updates of new features, and instead of updating several mods, the player could update just one. That would make it more intuitive.
