Development Update 14

Hello everybody, 

Today, the render accompanying this post won't find its way into the game. I just want to lead with that, or some people might try to figure out which girl it is. Spoiler, she is working in a bakery.

The reason why I'm still going to use it for this post is simple. It's the only render I've done since releasing Episode 3.

The reason for that is twofold. People that regularly read these dev updates know this. After a release, I mainly focus on writing. This usually means that I have a few weeks where I can't present you guys with new renders.

And then there is the problem with my computer. Maybe you remember that beautiful RTX 4090 that I mentioned in another post. Yeah... I don't have it.

What do you mean you don't have it?

Well, ... I bought 4x 32 GB ram sticks, and they don't work. My pc either crashes, freezes, or doesn't start to begin with. 2x 32 GB works fine, and that's the setup I used when creating my previous release. Still, I'd like o make full use of my gorgeous RTX 4090; for that, I need a bit more than 64 GB. So, after release, I gave my computer to the store where I bought it and hoped they could get the 128 GB to work.

That happened two weeks ago, and I'm slowly losing hope. When I look into the depths of despair, there is still a long way to go, though. Hopefully, I'll get my computer back this week. It's not like I have bucketloads of time that go to waste now, but without my new computer, I don't even want to think about creating my next update, which will include at least some renders.

Still, a dev update without at least some fun visuals seems meek and unexciting. And since this isn't my first rodeo, I came prepared. Usually, I reuse previous renders or create promotional images to do the job.

Thinking about it now, I have two images in my previous release that would suit the job. Both have to do with a hot tub. But I already created the one with Emily, and I can always show you Aurora's beautiful lower back another time.

As I already mentioned a few times now, I am writing. 

Three thousand one hundred thirty-four words, to be exact. I need three times that for Episode 3.5. I'm quite busy at the moment, so this isn't too bad of a number. Still, Episode 3.5 is far from finished. I'm only at 10%.

The minor update for in-between that I announced will also take some more time. I'm at 0%.

Basically, I don't have much to report right now other than I'm working on it, and I don't have a computer with which I enjoy doing renders.
