07 - Perfect Son-In-Law

Surprise Motherfucker...

Cool, so now that I have your attention. I've finished a bit over 350 renders for Act 6. Those that have played the latest beta release know. The game basically splits into two paths from there on out. It's not hard to guess why. Act 6 has basically zero overlap, so that means I'm almost creating two updates right now.

So if you are wondering what's taking so long, that's basically it. Usually it wouldn't be a problem. That's life. VN's split and there are variations of scenes. What's special about Act 6 is that it's a significant Act for both Stacy and Alice. So even though I could crank out the last few renders and be done with it. There is one scene that really deserves some attention.

Actually, most scenes in this Act deserve attention. That's why I took my time with them. You can thank me later :D

I bought myself a 4K monitor this week. I have a two monitor setup. One is still perfectly fine, while the other has caused issues before. I managed to make it work for months because with a couple of tricks I could reliably switch it on and off. Now this week the problem monitor started to go black during work.

Can't have that.

And I wanted to get at least one 4K monitor for a while. This was a good excuse. It was delivered yesterday. From my brief experience using it, 5 inches are huge.... I switched from 27 inches to 32 inches and I didn't think it would be this much of a difference.

Also I thought I'd pluck in the new monitor, and Windows would just 'Make it work'. It kind of did, but there were a couple of things that were fucked up that I had to 'fix'. For example, did you know that Daz Studio is a piece of shit application and their UI font doesn't scale into higher resolutions? I can practically count those pixels. The truely fucked up thing is that even the 'explorer' window that opens when I want to import a file looks pixelated.

Well, AI told me there isn't much I can do about that. I have scaling at 200% and not 150% which makes it worse. But I want roughly the same size on both my monitors, so tough luck.

Okay, enough complaining for one dev update. See you next week.

Well all I can say is once you've gone big (as in monitor) you can never go back. I now have two 32" monitors and my life has never been the same. I can now see.... everything. Unfortunately I can also add another messed up thing to the list with Daz. It is always something... 🙄

First off, you always have our attention. Second yeah... know too well.... for.a year I had a monitor that I had to take completely off power supply every 10 minutes, just for a second, or it would "bleed" (colors would wash into each other and blurr everthing). So I made a smal 12V switch, used it to switch 230V and each time the bleeding started I took supply and brought it back... later I used a timer relay to do that for me... ran it for over a year like that... switching on and off of one of my screens... then I bought a 57" ultra wide... and its fun cutting videos and making 3d models. And yes having 2 screens with different resolutions... horrible. It's bad enough to habe 2 screens with different color or gamma but different resolution is a killer if you really work on 2 screens at the same time. Now I use the remaining 32inch vertical for file explorer and the 57" for cutting and rendering... it's fun. And for the update... cant wait to play out both routes.... as always... thank you for the update and I can't wait for the next drop
