Come Home by RJ Rhodes

So when I had my little crisis and had to take a couple of mental health days this week, I took some time to try other games. One of those games is Come Home, which I really enjoyed! It's a rarity in that it's a sandbox game that I actually enjoy -- the free-roaming is so you can pick and choose which girls to have relationships with; none of them are required so you can go with only the ones that fit your tastes (a pet peeve of mine is when a game tells you who to find attractive). With the variety of relationships you have to choose from, there's bound to be someone that strikes your fancy, and you can safely ignore the ones that don't.

Not to mention that RJ is a fellow female dev and a completely awesome human being. 💜

In Come Home, you play as a young man who returns to his childhood home to help find his missing father. While he searches, he tries to maintain a somewhat normal life and meets a cast of 20 romanceable characters, each of which have their own stories.

The game is a visual novel with sandbox elements. There is a strong emphasis placed on choice in the game. You get to choose what you want to do with your time. You get to choose which relationships you want to progress with and which one's you are not interested in. None of the relationships are necessary to complete the central plot, so you can choose the things that you are interested in doing.
