Friday Update - December 25th, 2020
Happy Holidays to everyone! I'd thought about making a nice little Christmas-themed render for Mythos, but I figured it was time better spent actually putting more work into the game itself. Especially since I had to re-render an entire scene because B's hood was clipping into her shoulders. As such, B is ditching her hoodie - it's just too much work to maintain, and the bloody game takes place in June, anyway. It's too hot for that!
If you're wondering about the header image for this update, don't read too much into it. This was a piece commissioned that the customer wanted to be shown publicly. There won't be any action sequences with B and Monica storming any facilities.
Not in Book One, at least. 😉
Starting with next week's updates, I'm going to start giving out percentages of just how done Chapter One is. I'm not doing that this week because I want to actually get a handle on how I can do animations. Once I figure out how easily I can do that, I'll have a better idea of what percentage of the work for me it will be. If I had to guess, I think I'm about halfway done the first chapter - but that's far from carved in stone. I just know there's not quite as many events in day two as there are in day one, so that should balance out the two sex scenes I'll have to render.
... wait, technically that's four sex scenes since some of you will be playing the male variant. Let's tentatively say I'm at 40%, then. Like I said, I'll have a more clear figure next week.
I'm not going to be giving date estimates, anymore. That's already bitten me when I thought I'd have this thing ready in early January. You never know when a setback will happen (fuck that hoodie, seriously). Giving a percentage scale seems generally better for everyone.
Also, I know that it's not the 25th for a lot of you; I'm actually writing this at about midnight because I'm actually planning on mostly resting on Christmas. I didn't know if I'd have time to actually write this up on Friday, so you get it a little early. A gift!
One last thing I want to put out there - I really, really don't want this first game to be called just "Book One". I want it to have like... an actual subheading. Something like Mythos: Logical Conclusions or Mythos: Genesis or something like that. If anybody has any ideas, I'll be happy to hear them. After all, Mythos wasn't my idea for a title, so I'll happily steal--er--take suggestions for the subtitle!
Keep the merry legends alive!
