Friday Update - December 18th, 2020
Greetings, lore nerds!!!
Next week is Christmas. Fuck. 2020 is almost over, and hopefully next month is going to bring us the first chapter of Mythos! And that's primarily what we're going to be talking about, today. But first -
I got interviewed! LewdPixels (http://lewdpixels.com) interviewed me as the first of a series of articles on female developers! :D If you wanna read it, go here:

Now, on to the talk about the game -
I haven't finished coding the entire first day of Mythos yet, so I decided to see just how much "game" I've made. I played through from the beginning, making sure to do so just like I would if I were playing this game for the first time. It took me about half an hour, and that's without me looking at the Lorebook or rolling back to see what other dialogue choices will bring (I know you do it, too!!).
My original plan was to have Chapter One (or 0.1 for you technobabble dorks) be the first two days of the game, which would introduce all of the main cast (Tara, Sophia, B, Rain, and Monica). It would include two possible sex scenes and establish the setup for the story, as well as reveal a few secrets about some of the characters' identities. If I continue along with my plan to make this the first release, I probably won't get it done until late January at the earliest, and it'd likely be an hour or more longer.
I could theoretically cut Chapter One in half by ending it at the end of the first in-game day. This would mean (probably) getting out the first release in early January as I hoped - but one of the sex scenes would be in the second half, one of the characters wouldn't be introduced, and no secrets would be revealed. However, I also think that the first day would still give a good bit of setup on what's going on, and both days end on a note that will (hopefully!) make people eager for the next update.
In summary, I could make the chapters cover "major story events" as was my original plan, which would mean Chapter One (and probably others) would be longer, and thus take longer to release. Or I could make each chapter cover each day, which could get them out faster overall. There's a poll attached here, but I'd actually prefer if you left a comment with your thoughts. I'll also be asking this on the Discord, for people who don't read these updates.
I know one thing that's going to be sad - "This is your game, do what you want." But bear in mind, this is my first game, so what I want may not be what the players necessarily want.
So please, let me know your thoughts, read my interview (it has hints about the game in it, if you pay real close attention), and of course - keep the legends alive!

I voted for the longer update version; the reason for this is that it's a brand new game, you've got to get people hooked from the off; a longer update that gives more info and gives a better idea of what's to come is overall more appealing, well to me at least. 🙂
