Preview: The Lorebook

There's a lot going on in the world of Mythos. Between the characters, the mysteries surrounding Lisa's death, the secret societies, the mythlogical races... it can be tough to keep track! If only there were some handy guide to use to help you navigate through it all.

Ooooh, wait, there is! All it needs is the words "Don't Panic" in large, friendly letters on the cover.

I want people to enjoy Mythos as if they were reading an Agatha Christie novel or watching a detective film, but some folks like to delve deep in and comb for any clues they can find. Some people just like to learn more about the world of their games. Some people may just put the game aside for a while, then come back forgetting who these people are.

The Lorebook is for all of these people! Whenever your main character stumbles upon an important person, place, location, or organization, it'll get added to the Lorebook (with a handy little pop-up notification in the corner of the screen). If you've played other titles, you may be familiar with this system by other names (Codex, Encyclopaedia, etc).

When you open the Lorebook, any entry you've not read will be marked in red (as Sophia's entry demonstrates above). You can sort these alphabetically, by subject, or by which ones entries you haven't opened. Once you click on one of the entries, you're taken to their own little article.

Every article features a picture, and then information about the subject in question. As you progress through the game, if you learn more about a particular thing, the entry will actually be updated to reflect what new knowledge you've gleaned - you know, just in case you forget that someone happens to become a necromancer or join your harem (or both).

Hopefully, the Lorebook will be a helpful took for you to reference things you may have forgotten between game updates or at least give you more interesting things to read. You can also completely ignore it, if you like. It's not like there's gonna be any secrets hidden away in there that could come in handy later.

I wouldn't do that, right?

That's your preview for this week! Until next time, keep the legends alive!
