Magazine: Women's Sphere December 1940
60-page "Woman's Sphere" magazine dating from January 1941, packed with wartime women's interest features including:
- Knitting patterns - gifts for the family, including the adorable pixie hood and mitten set on the cover
- War-time fashion and beauty including festive eveningwear
- Christmas cookery
There are some pages missing from this magazine, but after careful examination I couldn't find any reference to the missing pages elsewhere, so there is no incomplete content.

I love the fashions, the make-up, the advice columns---I still follow the suggestion from one period magazine for an unexpected "furlough date", set your hair in curlers or rags before showering and let the moisture and steam set it---but this time, having been advised to pretty much eliminate butter, eggs and sugar for a while for health reasons, I am looking forward to curling up with the recipes.
