Introducing the Mimosa Dress
...And now for something completely different! We're making a foray into the 1950s with our Patreon pattern for June, the Mimosa dress.
The Mimosa dress is a fun, flirty mid-50s style sundress, with a wide, V-shaped neckline perfect for showcasing a novelty necklace.
The keynotes of 1950s styling are all here: simple lines in the bodice with cut-on sleeves and a nipped waistline, flaring into a full three-quarter circle skirt.
The best part is that with just six main pattern pieces, construction is a breeze! The sleeves and neckline facing are all integrated in the upper bodice pattern pieces, making this a quick and easy sew. I'm already planning at least two more!
The pattern comes in modern sizes 4-20 US / 8-24 UK, with four separate cup sizes options. I've also included a cover page for your printed pattern, complete with quick-reference fabric requirements chart.

Finally was able to make this one and it was lovely! I'm about to make a second one with some sizing adjustments for me <3
Aww yay! I’m actually working on another version myself at the moment!
This one runs a bit big on me so I've sized down.
Another perfect dress! Yay!
Aww I'm so glad you like it!
Already printed the pattern, now i'm looking for the perfect fabric. May i ask where the lemon fabric is from?
I got it from Fabric Godmother, but when I looked on the site again I can’t see it so they may have sold out
Lovely. You can't have too many easy, floaty dresses when the summer heat hits.
yay for easy breezy summer dresses!
I've been living in these two dresses this week haha - can't wait to make more, just need to order the fabric from Spoonflower!
Gorgeous, love the fabric xx
