Introducing the Promenade Dress
The Promenade Dress is a raglan sleeve day dress with shaped midriff, which draws inspiration from the mid-1940s.
The darted raglan sleeve can be enhanced with shoulder pads for a classic mid-40s look, while the sweetheart neckline is perfect for embellishing with dress clips or a corsage.
The pattern comes with the same 6-gore, flared skirt as the Daytripper dress, so is also compatible with the Swingtime Skirt pattern extension, which is honestly my favourite way to make it (the teal and coral/orange versions use this skirt).
As well as being economical with fabric, the raglan sleeve and shaped midriff also provide the option to play with various different colourblocking configurations, making this a perfect stashbuster project.

I am hoping to grade this up to a bigger size (44" waist), but I'm hoping for expansion of sizes, too!
It's definitely on the list for re-release in the full size range, but unfortunately it's going to take a while to work through the back catalogue as new patterns are the priority!
I am really looking forward to this one. "Perfect for ... dress clips"!!!! I still say there should be an emoji that means "swoon".
So happy to see people as excited about dress clips as I am!
