Patreon Update May 2025

Lovely Patrons,

I wanted to write a short note to a) thank you for your ongoing support and b) let you know my upcoming plans for this page.

As you've noticed, I've put my page on pause on a few occasions over recent months - my father became unwell late last year, and the challenges of balancing a full-time job and supporting a sick parent alongside Patreon (not to mention my own personal sewing plans!) became overwhelming, and something had to give. I'm pleased to share the news that my father is doing much better now, which will free up more time to dedicate to running this page the way I would like to!

As there was no pattern release in January or February, I have double releases planned for May and June, the former of which is already in the works. May's first pattern has been graded to the full size range, I just need to finish the instruction booklet and it will be hitting the virtual shelves any day now!

Going forward, some pattern releases may be straight-up reproductions of original vintage patterns - these will still be graded to the full Tuppence Ha'penny size range, but (in the interests of maintaining my own sanity) I may not always sew my own pattern tests, so there won't necessarily be accompanying photographs. I may also continue to pause billing from time to time if I need some space to catch up, but I will commit to releasing a minimum of one pattern for every billed month (as well as extra bonuses for Aficionado patrons).

Thank you again for being here, and I can't wait to show you what I have in store for you!

Charlotte

Was there a June release?

I only saw 1 pattern for May and 0 for June. I'm hoping we'll get an update on what's happening as I was just charged for September membership. 🫤

I lost my father to cancer two years ago and I don’t regret devoting myself to spending as much time with him as possible with him when he was sick. I’m glad your father is better.

Family takes priority, always. I am so glad to hear that your father is doing better; I will admit to being a little worried about you. But as someone who has in the past dealt with care giving and being, in essence, a one woman business, I completely understand how overwhelmed you must have been. Incidentally, on what I hope will be a cheering note, my next project is the Weekender Dress and Bolero, using them to reproduce an outfit I wore for our first date, this month, forty-five years ago. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned next; our wedding anniversary is this November. Thanks for letting us know. Wishing you well.

Thank you for the update! Hoping your father continues to do well. If you ever need to skip sew-by photos and sample testing due to time constraints, perhaps some of us could test the patterns and photograph along the way?

Thank you for the well wishes for my father! Not gonna lie, we were quite worried for a time, but he's really doing remarkably well for a 90-year-old recovering from surgery! He's determined to get his average daily step count back up to 5,000 😂

So glad you opened back up! Life always comes first and I am glad to hear you plan to continue to care for and prioritize yourself. Thrilled I got my foot in the door for the patterns as my wife fits your size range and she’s able to draft up for me. Can’t wait to model some of these lovely designs at events! I’ve been devouring the magazine PDFs from Etsy for years now so I’m so happy to be able to further support you.
