A Small Trick I’ve Been Using Lately
Lately I've been using reels with autoplay for language learning, and it's working better than I expected.
The setup is simple: pick a phrase or a collection, turn on autoplay, put on headphones, and let it run.
I've been doing this a lot while traveling - on trains, on planes, in the passenger seat - and also during random routine stuff. The phrases just keep playing one after another.
What I like about it:
- each phrase has video and subtitles
- if something isn't clear, you can glance at the screen
- or you can just listen and leave it running in the background
It feels less like studying and more like keeping real spoken English in your ears for a while.
A setup that works especially well for me:
- around 10 videos in a loop
- autoplay on
- optional: repeat each phrase 3 times
Repeat mode is strong - you really start hearing the phrase properly - but sometimes it's a bit much.
Plain autoplay with headphones feels more natural, and it's easier to fit into normal life.
It's not active studying, and I think that's part of why it works.
You keep hearing the language again and again, and little by little it starts to stick.
