📱 Smoother Video Playback on Playphrase.me

Yesterday I spent a few hours improving how the video player works on Playphrase.me. While building Reels, I discovered a few things that needed to be brought back to the rest of the site — especially for mobile.

The main improvement is more stable autoplay behavior. Because of that, I revisited some mobile scenarios. Now when you open Common Phrases, Favorites, or other collections, videos start playing immediately and the mobile keyboard automatically hides.

That means learning flows much more smoothly — no need to manually close the keyboard and press Play every time. On iPhone and other devices that support this behavior, you only need to press Play once, and after that the experience becomes much more seamless.

Small changes, but they make practicing on Playphrase.me much more comfortable.
