Functional Wall Phone
Hi guys! Been a while; still working steadily on the kitchen set (and save file). But here's something new in the meantime!
Someone over on tumblr requested that I make a functional wall phone, and it's something I've wanted in the game for a while, so I did my best to make it a reality! I had to learn a lot to make this come to life, but I'm very proud of the result :D The animation isn't perfect, but it's the best I could do - I hope you guys don't mind the lack of smoothness.
This phone is usable by adults and children, and has most of the interactions from the cellphone. You can also shift-click it to enable phone calls, and once every day the phone will ring with one of EA's phone calls. Either a telemarketer, Landgraab Power Company, a prank caller, an 'unknown' caller, or an NPC you've met asking to come over. I may add more calls in the future for variety.
I've included a TS2 (converted by LOolyHarb1) phone and TS3 phone for maximum nostalgia, but keep in mind the animations were made for my custom phone, so the sizing of the handset is a little off. You will also need the Functional Wall Phone package for these to function, as it contains the tuning.
I will make more variations of wall phones in the future (currently I have a 1920s phone someone requested on my list, as well as a rotary phone.) I'm also interested in making a table phone that sits on surfaces, but as right now I can't figure out how to stop it from moving the animations up, that'll take me a bit longer.

My game is also saying that about a lot of different lots I add. I don't have awinged llama's stuff added right now, and I'm getting that error. So it could be a base game bug

They left because EA sold to someone else. It has nothing to do with the U.S, not everything is about politics.

Around The Sims has a decorative version of different home phones, including one for the wall

anyone knows when did it break? haven't played since early august but it was fine for me then i have it in my current save and i'm updating the mods for the latest update and im trying to decide what to do lol
keep it if u dont mind the phone sitting away from the hand/head. technically works but no good for machinima. just look away xD i dont know when it happened because i only downloaded it after the most recent update : (

unlike others, it technically functions for me. no issues with the interactions. but whenever my sims use it the phone goes through their heads instead of sticking to their hand

Hopefully this mod gets a fix sooner or later. Have you thought about giving the new event phones the same treatment?

ts4 will launch a wall phone as decoration in missions, you should take advantage and put the mod as one of the options to be a replacement

Hey! this might be a strange ask but would you be open to sharing the meshes used for the 1920s wall phone purely for making poses? I used this mod a lot in game and it'd be awesome to be able to use your phones in posepacks, so the phones my sims use in screens match my storytelling. I'll respect your decision if it's a no :)
Hi! You can export/edit the meshes any way you like! Do you want me to change it into a deco object? Or do you just want the handset converted to a prop for sims (like in the ring category)
Hi! I love this mod and it has never given me any issues before. However, lately, I can't seem to get it to work. While it does initiate the calls when I press each option, it doesn’t play the animation or pick up the phone from the base. My Sim just stands there staring off into the distance, and I only get the call notification. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I can't seem to fix it.
