1. Enter the Courts of Gwynavir!

The ash of the Orcish Exarchate is clearing, and a dangerous beauty is taking root on Ternovis.

Next month, we are launching Season 3, introducing our original take on the Elves: The Courts of Gwynavir.
Forget the standard, peaceful forest-dwellers and stuck-up nobles. These Elves are an ancient fey civilization that has refined beauty, ritual, and the hunt into a single, terrifying culture.

2. Longstay Gifts Reminder

Stay with us in June and receive next month's set full of awesome sculpts, and build up towards the Longstay Gifts for each 3 months you remain a member!

3. The Lore: A Dangerous Beauty

The Elves of Gwynavir left their dying world after their original homeland was consumed by the great breach of the Veil and the forces of Bright.

Unlike the Orcs, the Elves arrived with purpose and order. They did not ask for shelter. Instead, they brought gifts to the people of Ternovis: rare gemstones, enchanted relics, and materials unknown in this world. These offerings secured them land in the fertile eastern forests, where they established what would become known as the Courts of Gwynavir.

The First Courts

The first Elves to settle Ternovis were not common folk, but the highest pillars of their civilization: noble houses, wealthy dynasties, archmages, scholars, and master artisans. This shaped Elven society from the beginning. Gwynavir became a realm built almost entirely by the elite. Their cities reflected this – elegant, impossibly symmetrical, and infused with layered enchantments that blurred the line between architecture and living art.

These First Courts preserved much of the old world’s traditions: strict etiquette, arcane mastery, and a belief in cultural superiority.

To many races, they appeared graceful and enlightened. To others, distant and arrogant.

The Second Arrival

Years after the First Courts had secured their place, the Veil weakened once again. Through it came another wave of Elves… But these were not the same.

Led by a queen unknown to all recognized bloodlines of Gwynavir, they arrived scarred by survival. They had endured the full horrors of Bright’s invasion, and though they escaped, the corruption had not left them untouched. It had changed them. Not in body alone, but in instinct, temperament, and desire. Where the First Courts were composed, these newcomers were cunning. Where the old nobles valued restraint, the wilder ones embraced unpredictability. Where beauty once inspired comfort, theirs inspired unease.

Yet they remained undeniably Elven. Perhaps even more beautiful than before… and far more dangerous.

The Wild Courts

The second-wave Elves claimed the southeastern lands, far from the authority of Gwynavir’s original nobility. There they founded their own enclaves, later known as the Wild Courts.

Though they maintained many outward traditions of Elven nobility, their customs had become warped by Bright’s touch: rituals built around obsession, games of manipulation, celebrations that mixed pleasure and cruelty. To outsiders, their courts feel like mirrors of Gwynavir – familiar, but wrong in ways difficult to name.

A Fractured People

Modern Elven society is divided not by territory alone, but by memory. The First Courts see themselves as preservers of civilization, the rightful heirs of old Gwynavir. The Wild Courts view themselves as the evolution of it – proof that survival demands change. Between them lies a quiet hostility: political intrigue, bloodline disputes, and whispered accusations of corruption.

SEASON III MINIATURES – DESIGN NOTES

At its core, the Elven range reflects a civilization built on contradiction – impossibly refined and ancient, yet fundamentally dangerous beneath the elegance. Rooted in Arthurian fey traditions and transformed by the Bright, the Elves of Gwynavir embody beauty not as comfort, but as power.

Their culture merges ritual, nobility, and predation into a single identity. Where other factions wear their strength openly, the Elves conceal it beneath grace, glamour, and impossible etiquette.

Art Direction Philosophy

The Elves are designed around a visual and cultural duality:

Courtly Civilization – an ancient, ritualized society built on beauty, hierarchy, and perfected craftsmanship

Fey Wildness – the primal, unsettling nature beneath the refinement, expressed through instinct, predation, and supernatural distortion.

This creates a faction that feels elegant but threatening. The deeper the fey influence manifests, the less stable and “civilized” the forms become.

The Roster:

  • Fey Warriors (11x + Character): Court-trained hunters lightly armored for extreme agility and camouflage.

  • Shadowcat Riders (5x + Character): The pure embodiment of Bright magic! These riders use massive feline mounts and illusion magic to obscure their location, striking with long spears and nets.

  • Enchantress Coven (3x + Character): A classic triumvirate of fey witches wielding powerful ritualistic magic.

  • Large Terrain: The Court Amphitheatre - An elegant, open-air stepped gathering place designed for fey assemblies, rituals, and deadly politics.

6. 🎲 RPG Tier: Roots of Deception (Part 1 Preview)

You came to Silvarum Vale because a polite elf offered a job that sounded remarkably free of complications.

You are staying because giant rotting flowers keep appearing across the valley, predators are arriving faster than anyone can count them, and the prime suspects include a murder-bird, a bear enthusiast, and a waterfall spirit who treats attempted homicide as a conversation starter.

What began as a simple investigation has become a botanical disaster powered entirely by poor decisions and unresolved sibling issues.

Will you:
🌺 Investigate flowers so foul-smelling that local wildlife interprets them as a dinner invitation?
🐉 Distract an ancient monster because that is somehow the safer option?
🌊 Follow a beautiful naiad directly into an obvious trap?
👯 Determine which identical twin is telling the truth while evidence actively refuses to cooperate?

One thing is certain: The flowers are winning. The family therapy budget is not.

The Massive July Miniatures:

  • HUGE Boss: The Jabberwooky!

  • The Beasts: 3x Bears, 3x Carnivorous Plants, 3x Giant Hornets, 6x Shadowcats, 2x Winged Snakes, and a Kenku Vulture.

  • The Cast & NPCs: Naiad Bard, Gnome on a Fey Cat, Bear-riding Forest Elf, Elf Boy with Squirrel, Elf Artificer, Wizard, Alchemist, and Ranger.

  • Terrain & Bases: Forest Scatter Terrain Set + Base Set.
